Snake eyes and funk -- I can diggit!

  Fri. 2/3/12 3:06pm G:

Thanks for playing this. I recall waiting hours for Radio Luxembourg to play it when I was a recently expatted little kid in England in 1972. It never made the UK charts, but the "cool" DJs would play US-only soul hits sometimes. It climbed the charts so slowly, for months, in early-mid 72, so I got into quite the habit of searching for it to be played. Nowadays, you mainly hear it as talkover music for commercial radio hosts doing a read-the-copy spot.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:08pm G:

Outa-Space ---> Papa's Got a Brand New Bhag
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:10pm Billy:

It's better to hissssss good than to feel good, and dahling -- I hissss mahvelous!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:11pm Caryn:

Are the DJs playing Indian music today for some special reason that I've missed, or is it just a coincidence?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:12pm DJ KG:

neither reason nor coincidence
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:12pm DJ KG:

hi everyone!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:13pm Caryn:

Of course, Peshawar is in Pakistan, so maybe not "Indian" music, but you catch my drift.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:13pm kat330:

It's the day the music died, but Indian is making a nice mellow into the weekend mood.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:13pm kat330:

Hi, Kurt!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:14pm Brit:

@Caryn: maybe "subcontinental" would cover all bases there???
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:14pm 37:

just finished curry for lunch.... great music to follow up!!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:15pm Caryn:

@kat: true about the date. Hmm, shouldn't some DJ be doing a show of all Holly, Valens & Big Bopper tunes? Or "American Pie" covers?
@Brit: yep, that might be the best term
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:16pm dc scot:

I say all Big Bopper tunes. who cares about those other guys?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:16pm kat330:

They're doing that locally.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:16pm mchuge:

Best segue between shows ever!!!!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:17pm Parq:

Deja vu all over again ...
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:17pm 420 Damn I stoned:

Great show for those who are cannibis challenged
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:17pm dc pat:

my browser wants to me to be someone else...
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:18pm 420 Damn I stoned:

I am someone else
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:19pm 420 Damn I stoned:

Day the music died play some Bob Dylan .
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:19pm kat330:

Could play McLean just to get Breckman's hackles raised.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:19pm Cheri Pi:

Back to back raga attack!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:21pm kat330:

I consider this anti-Super Bowl music, and I thank you for that.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:21pm Caryn:

If Meghan's show was today, you just know she would've played that Buddy Holly scene from "The Young Ones"...
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:25pm pierre:

Bonsoir Kurt !
Magnifique musique you're palying.

Bonsoir listeners !
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:25pm das:

That image is really hypnotic.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:25pm Caryn:

Rock that tanbur, Talip!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:25pm kat330:

OTOH, does this long-playing music have any connection with that transition convo overheard between Bryce and Kurt -- something about being naked and Kurt staring at him?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:27pm kat330:

Allo, Pierre!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:28pm kat330:

There was a hint of Malaguena there at the end of the last.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:28pm pierre:

Ocora is such a great collection, i've been living years without hearing their name on the radio, but started to listen to their treasure not long ago (thans to wfmu btw)
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:28pm Caryn:

@kat: ooh, you might be right. Maybe Bryce and Kurt are getting it on, and put on some long tracks to give themselves some time? If Bryce was naked, he might've been trying the "naked man" technique. Or the music is simply covering Kurt trying to help Bryce find the missing clothes he's somehow managed to lose?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:28pm kat330:

Great Cuni form!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:29pm BSI:

We are all naked, cosmically speaking, in the eyes of Billy the Snake God.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:29pm kat330:

@Caryn: Yeah, the jock would need to be hands-free.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:30pm Caryn:

If Bryce has lost his clothes, I'm thinking alcohol has somehow been involved. Or he went to try out that new head shop Ken visited?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:31pm 420 Damn I stoned:

Jesus this is a downer
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:32pm kat330:

Aside question, Caryn: Did your English teachers in Finland discuss subjunctive case? I'm figuring at some point between my education and your generation, it got chucked. Weird how a lot of its usage has become "wierd how alot of it's" usage.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:32pm Caryn:

The head shop story would explain the musical selections. Old-time hippie music selection for getting stoned: a raga.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:33pm kat330:

Oh, right, a shop recently opened up nearby. Ken was fascinated by it.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:35pm DJ KG:

when bryce gets drunk he puts on more and more and more clothes
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:37pm Swami:

Puppets! Yes!
Fri. 2/3/12 3:37pm Mark in VT:

Is the DJ marathon pair up list out yet? wondering if Kurt will be paired with Andy or Frangry. And now wondering if the mayo has been ordered for Bryce.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:38pm kat330:

Yes! Not Aurora Borealis, but the sun is still involved.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:38pm Mike East:

Meat Puppets are allll right. Happy Friday everybody.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:39pm kat330:

Instrumentals might be their strong suit.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:39pm Caryn:

@kat: well, they taught it, but I don't think they used the term. They tend to avoid grammatical terms in most ESL teaching.
@kurt: so does that mean that if Bryce is naked, you know he's stone-cold sober?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:41pm kat330:

Does the studio still smell like patchouli, or now like meat puppets?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:41pm BDR:

XTC! Thank you!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:41pm kat330:

XTC, yes!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:42pm kat330:

Hi, Mike E! TGIPerjantai! (for Caryn)
Fri. 2/3/12 3:42pm Mark in VT:

Is that a theremin I hear in this XTC song?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:43pm Slurry d:

What's with the speedy meat puppets??
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:44pm Caryn:

@kat: hmm, maybe we should create a Finnish version... LKOP?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:44pm DJ KG:

hahahaha! hi slurry!!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:44pm Cecile:

I loved the Meat Puppets, wobbly vocals and all. Great live band.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:44pm kat330:

In my olden days, "were" would be in place of "was" here: "If Meghan's show was today," and "If Bryce was naked," -- that's subjunctive case.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:44pm DJ KG:

mark - prob a keyboard
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:48pm kat330:

I couldn't tell you what the LKO stands for. I know the days of the week and a phrase here and there, but that's it. Not even numbers.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:48pm Caryn:

@kat: true. Or as a conditional future subjunctive, "were to be" might be even more precise. I think grammar tends to slip on comment boards or online chats.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:49pm DJ KG:

mark - marathon tag team dj sched should be out in a week or 10 days or so i'd think.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:49pm kat330:

Oh, absolutely, and I wouldn't stand on it, but I was merely curious. I actually think it is no longer being taught. I slip back and forth on that myself.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:51pm clyde stubblefield:

how did sun ra get these sounds 40 years ago that musicians are just stumbling upon today???
You need to see the reaction of the people in my office as they hear this...
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:51pm kat330:

I guess Kurt has a "the kids are all light" theme going on, suns and all.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:51pm kat330:

Ooooh, Crystal light -- prism!
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:53pm Caryn:

@kat: but as those if-clauses were not about the future, the simple "were" is indeed the way to go. But as for whether it's taught... I think it's different for English-speaking countries. You might want to ask someone in the USA or UK whether it's taught there. ESL speakers tend to speak more "correct" English than most EFL speakers.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:53pm DJ KG:

the kids are all light! nice.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:53pm kat330:

@clyde: A good reaction I hope?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:54pm kat330:

:) Guess you have your hands back now.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 3:55pm DJ KG:

should i just go with the belief that clyde stubblefield is listening to my show?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:55pm kat330:

I was wondering that myself, but would he be in an office? Esp. one of squares?
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:56pm Caryn:

@Kurt: either that, or one of the Budweiser Clydesdales...
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:58pm Caryn:

You know, with an alias... They can't use their Budweiser names, or they risk getting canned. Then again, a horse wouldn't be in an office either. Unless that's what they call their stables.
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:58pm Billy Crystal:

Any more grammar talk and you'll force me to post clips from "Analyze This."
  Fri. 2/3/12 3:59pm Caryn:

@Billy: clips are fine, as long as you don't post a "humorous" ditty about the movie to the tune of some Broadway standard.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:00pm kat330:

All done!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:03pm Billy Crystal:

Fine you'll have to wait until the Oscars to see me sing some "humorous" bits then. No matter how much I practice singing I can't get the quotation marks off.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:07pm Billy Crystal:

then I started singing "Bye Bye Miss American Pie."
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:09pm kat330:

Did Clyde's co-workers turn off his computer?
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:09pm Carmichael:

Hi Kurt. Just back from some excellent chana masala. Time for the usual Friday afternoon work output.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 4:11pm DJ KG:

carmichael! i was playing some music for your masala. did you hear? i tried to play it really loud. 37 heard it with his chana!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:11pm kat330:

This seems a heavy sort of sound for "The Window" title.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:14pm Carmichael:

I technically was in another town. Maybe the InterTubes were blocked or something.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:16pm Caryn:

@kat: maybe he's going for a "Rear Window" feel... Of course, considering the album title is Armageddon, maybe the view from the window is less than pleasant.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:17pm kat330:

That's what I was gathering, especially since my math problem for that last i wrote was 666.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:18pm kat330:

Maybe seeing ol' snake eyes out the window.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 4:19pm DJ KG:

kat - i looked quick but couldn't find the liner notes for 'armageddon' online, but 'the window' is about aliens observing civilizations on earth, presumably i guess through a window
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:22pm kat330:

Excellent info, Kurt! I guess they weren't too sunny about what they were seeing. Can't blame 'em.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:23pm Caryn:

Cool, Kurt!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:23pm Carmichael:

So far I figured out it's a Canadian film.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:24pm kat330:

Can you answer this, Kurt? "papapluie" isn't appearing in my Cassell's French dic -- what is lost?
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:26pm kat330:

Or maybe Pierre can translate if here?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 4:26pm DJ KG:

oops! misspelled. thanks, i'll fix it.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:26pm Caryn:

Either that's a French play on words, or it's just parapluie...
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 4:27pm DJ KG:

yep, parapluie
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:27pm kat330:

Yes, I thought it was umbrella, the most frequently lost item.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:29pm Carmichael:

OK, a Canadian film written by J.J. Abrams.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:34pm Cheri Pi:

Bitchin cd skip-I could listen to this for hours...
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:35pm Minnesota Jeff:

WHATS UP!??!!!!! ::kick flips his skateboard, chugs some dew:: EXTREEEEEEEEEEEME!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:35pm kat330:

Now that's an entrance!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 4:36pm DJ KG:

hey minngiff!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:36pm kat330:

And a weird animation, dude.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:37pm kat330:

This makes me feel like some contra dancing.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:37pm Caryn:

So, MinnJeff, what inspired the gif, man?
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:37pm BSI:

huh? I thought I was the most frequently lost item.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:38pm Caryn:

Someone should be dancing a reel.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:38pm from Italy:

is this a launeddas ?
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 4:39pm DJ KG:

italy: yes.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:39pm northguineahills:

Synergetics #1, awesomeness!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:43pm Caryn:

I was just listening to some Scott Walker. Evan Parker on "Climate of Hunter": awesome.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:44pm Minnesota Jeff:

I think the insperation for this .gif was the movie "V", remember that one? With the lizard people under human skin? I would assume if anyone was one of those it would be Billy Crystals. I don't recally if they had lazer eyes though, but you know, they could.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:45pm Minnesota Jeff:

  Fri. 2/3/12 4:45pm from Italy:

just looked up Mariani ... odd that a non-Sardinian is playing the launeddas (he's from Rome). Great show!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:46pm Carmichael:

Armageddon liner notes: "Yet another masterpiece from the archives of Phil Cohran. Armageddon was conceived in 1958 and written down in 1963. After performing with Sun Ra and benefiting from the teachings of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad, Phil Cohran's compositions changed decidedly, and he began to focus on cosmology and culture. This particular performance was recorded live at the Afro Arts Theater at 3900 S. Drexel in Chicago on February 11th, 1968. It has never been released and practically unheard in over 40 years."-Katalyst
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:46pm Caryn:

@MinnJeff: no laser eyes, but the eyes were red.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:48pm kat330:

Speaking of V as in Victory: Just got an email confirmation Komen backed down on their pull out from Planned Parenthood.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:50pm Caryn:

Now Billy is more of a cross between a Cylon and a "V" lizard.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:53pm kat330:

Why does Hollywood always make evil aliens lizardlike? I don't find that frightening or repellant at all. We have made pets from the skinks who live in our backyard and keep down the garden insects. They are so cute!
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:54pm kat330:

@Carmichael: Thanks for those notes.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:55pm kat330:

Uh, DJKG, any way you can scale down the starting point of the math questions, like starting in the 300's or something? This last time was the third time now I got either 666 or 665. Odd that.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:55pm Geico Gecko:

@kat: Mammals are haters.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:57pm J.T.:

I always liked casting against type. Maybe they should have villainous pandas or dolphins.
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:58pm Caryn:

@kat: great news! It's funny, the brief pull-out I suspect only helped Planned Parenthood. They got a lot of donations in protest.
I suspect the lizard choice has more to do with lizards and snakes being more difficult to read (in terms of behaviour) than, say, most mammals. Also, I think the "cold-blooded" idea easily carries over to "cold-blooded killer". (And there's the inevitable Biblical notions of snakes as evil.)
  Fri. 2/3/12 4:59pm Parq:

There were plenty of people in the early 70s who genuinely heard Billy's single this way.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:00pm Caryn:

@J.T.: They did have "Night of the Lupus" with the killer rabbits... And dolphins are actually nasty bastards. They tend to gang rape porpoises.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:01pm J.T.:

Night of the Lepus, right! Great trailer, not so great film.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:02pm northguineahills:

I usually get the answer "666" when commenting at least thrice a week.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:02pm Parq:

"Porpoise Gang Rape"! No dolphin is safe! The most shocking film since "Born Free", coming to a theater near you!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:02pm kat330:

I knew exactly what our skinks were thinking when they copulated right at our back door for 20 minutes straight. No mammal (except for a few good men) goes on that long (I don't think...I really haven't the foggiest notion).
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:02pm Caryn:

@J.T.: yep. Plus, even if rabbits became gigantic, that wouldn't change the fact that their dietary tracts can't process meat. So they wouldn't start eating humans. They'd just decimate the forests, or something.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:03pm Carmichael:

My pleasure, DJKG.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:07pm kat330:

So is everyone googling mammal sex now??!!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:07pm J.T.:

@Caryn Giant hopping bunnies? I think they'd do plenty of squashing. Jackrabbit Slam, coming soon to a theater near you.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:08pm Caryn:

I remember years ago, on "So Graham Norton", they visited a web site that just listed the average penis lengths of different animal species. Sharks have two penises, BTW. (I suppose they are hemipenes, actually.) But they're both only about 1-2 inches long.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:10pm kat330:

I named the male skink "Sting."
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:11pm Parq:

Kat, why - does he mumble and preen?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:11pm Caryn:

@kat: heh! Yeah, isn't Sting supposed to go for 6 hours or something?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:12pm kat330:

Sharks aren't mammals, but that probably contributes to the mammal-centric hatred of cold-blooded creatures.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:12pm Caryn:

In some documentary they said that a fruitfly's sperm is actually longer than a fruitfly (stretched out, I mean). An entomologist friend of mine said that was nonsense.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:13pm kat330:

@Parq: Actually, I think he did!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:14pm Cecile:

I thought dogs and cats could be in congress for hours.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:14pm Caryn:

@kat: yeah, I was talking animals in general. Actually, a reviewer once explained in a magazine that Ewoks always freaked him out, because even though they were designed to look cute, the Ewoks have these black, emotionless, shark eyes. Which is true, if you think about it.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:15pm kat330:

I should note I'm not a voyeur of skink sex. Just so happened I was sitting out on our deck enjoying a beautiful day with a book when they started in. They were between me and going back inside -- I didn't want to disturb the couple -- so the length of time was more notable.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:16pm Caryn:

@kat: I'm hoping the skink didn't play the hurdy-gurdy, though?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:17pm kat330:

@Cecile: You may be right, though the cats around here seem to be really quick about it, thank goodness. The caterwauling!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 5:17pm DJ KG:

once you get the reputation of being a skink voyeur it's pretty hard to shake it.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:17pm kat330:

No, a stick as a bass. :)
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:19pm kat330:

@DJ KG: Aww, doggone it. I'm stepping in it all over today.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:19pm Skinks:

@kat: Perv.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:20pm Caryn:

I'll always love Jennifer Saunders for putting the following exchange in "Jam & Jerusalem" about a society party that suddenly went wrong:
-What, Trudi read a poem?
-No, Sting played the lute.
-Oh god.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 5:22pm DJ KG:

caryn. ha!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:22pm J.T.:

Thanks DJKG for this Basinski piece. Early Tangerine Dream zone-out sound-alike.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:26pm kat330:

I'll be doing penance in the kitchen now, so J.T. can take y'all on. If I don't make it back before you leave, Kurt, thanks for a de-LIGHT-ful afternoon!
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 5:28pm DJ KG:

see ya, kat, ya skink skank
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:28pm Caryn:

Come back, kat! If you go, they'll just think you've gone to the deck to look for more copulating skinks!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:30pm Parq:

May I be so bold as to congratulate us all on reaching a new low on the level of discourse in this space?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:31pm J.T.:

Kat's cooking something in the wok... e-woks? Mmmm. Tasty.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:33pm Carmichael:

We've worked hard for our achievement, Parq. Thanks you for recognizing it.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:35pm Caryn:

Eat the ewok, J.T.! It's like eating a big groundhog. A good way to get out your frustrations about Phil's prediction and get rid of an annoying Lucas character at the same time.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:37pm Caryn:

@Parq: oh, this entire discussion has been rooted in the teachings of Aristotle and Cicero. Suck it, sophists!
Fri. 2/3/12 5:37pm Mark in VT:

Is Kurt stringing up a series of cowbells and gongs to the loud feud cart tonight?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:39pm J.T.:

If I was to get rid of the annoying Lucas character, I'd be a cannibal. Sorry George.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:44pm Caryn:

@J.T.: hah! There's an interesting theory that Sheena Easton is to blame for all the Lucas crap. All the "special edition" additions & prequels: brainchildren of a post-Sheena Easton Lucas. She had the same effect on Philip K. Dick when they were together: he became even loonier and wrote crappier books.

Also. I suspect the low level of discourse is going work against our "make intelligent, erudite calls to SUW to freak them out" sabotage plan?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:45pm Caryn:

But on the other hand, if the SUW topic tonight is skink sex, we can all contribute.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 5:46pm DJ KG:

wait - sheena easton kicked with both george lucas and phillip dick?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:46pm Caryn:

Fela Kuti! Yay!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:46pm Caryn:

@Kurt: yep. She has interesting taste in men. Or she's just a very odd kind of star fucker.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:47pm kat330:

Okay, sauce is bubbling, I'm back -- whaahhh? To see an insult by our esteemed DJ? [pout]
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 5:48pm DJ KG:

i liked her collabs with my man prince. don't know if they were hooking it up or not or ... well, who am i kidding? but "sugar walls" is a pretty fun tune!
Fri. 2/3/12 5:48pm Mark in VT:

Kurt, and or the collective Kurt fans and listeners-do we lean to aggressive or passive in anger and sabotage? This would make a difference in the strategy and outcome of the feud thing.
Avatar Fri. 2/3/12 5:48pm DJ KG:

no insult, kat. just playin'. sorry.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:49pm kat330:

You should blame Sting for being so bold with me only a couple of feet away.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:49pm glenn:

what's with all the skink chitchat? carl hiassen's best character, by the way.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:49pm kat330:

I KNOW!! So am I -- always.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:49pm J.T.:

I remember PKD having a crush on Linda Rondstadt but never heard about S.E!
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:50pm Caryn:

@Kurt: yep, I think Prince managed to avoid the Sheena Easton curse. Maybe third time was the charm? If Sheena ever writes an autobiography, it might make for interesting reading.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:51pm J.T.:

Hiaasen's great -- Skink was the environmentalist ex-governor living in Everglades hunting possum and gator?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:52pm Caryn:

Or could we blame the whole "Symbol" era on Sheena? The dates don't match, but maybe it was a delayed reaction.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:53pm glenn:

mostly living off road kill, but yes.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:54pm Caryn:

"Shut Up Andy"? Freudian slip or intentional zinger?
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:54pm kat330:

Caryn, J.T. just illuminated the LKOPerjantai for me.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:55pm Caryn:

@kat: that's what J.T.s are for :)
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:56pm kat330:

Is this the Apocalypse clarion?
Fri. 2/3/12 5:56pm Mark in VT:

I am listening on a laptop. Wish I could crank this UP!!! This sounds really good.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:57pm Skinks:

@kaT: Yes, Billy C. is now going to turn all humans into skinks so we can all indulge our urge to merge.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:59pm kat330:

@Skinks: Well, then there won't be any time for anything else, society and civilization will be putty in Crystal's hands.
  Fri. 2/3/12 5:59pm kat330:

G'night dear people! And thanks again, Kurt!
