Options Bitslap with KBC: Playlist from February 1, 2011 Options

Back in 1979, I made the decision to accept Dr Demento as my personal savior. Since then, with the help of his apostles Spike, Al, Stan and Black-Eyed Susan Brown, I have made it my mission to spread the Gospel of the Firesign and the Word of the Waller. Please join me and my fellow seekers as we find the Wisdom we crave and the Rapture we deserve. A new sermon every Tuesday (and NO collection plate!).

iTunes Feed Bitslap with KBC is also available as a podcast. For more info on how to have the MP3 archives of Bitslap with KBC delivered automatically to your computer and/or MP3 player, visit our Podcast Central page.

Artist Track Comments
Tom Patchett & Jay Tarses  IN THE BOOTH   Options From an album I have since packed away somewhere, whose name I can't recall, that's all about football. Mostly lame, it has its moments. Tom and Jay are both veteran TV writers and producers.
National Lampoon  TERMINAL FOOTBALL   Options
Hank Williams Jr  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?   Options The theme for ABC's Monday Night Football, here's a photo-montage video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pXyzuVk7SoI
LIKE A MAN (I Hate Football Season)  Theresa Ryan   Options Here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djrS8C9ET4g
David Lander  DAVE SHWARTZ: SPEAKING OF SPORTS   Options David was a member of the Credibilty Gap and, with Michael McKean, was half of Lenny & Squiggy
Andy Griffith  WHAT IT WAS, WAS FOOTBALL   Options Before he became Andy of Mayberry, he was Deacon Andy Griffith and this was his biggest bit.

Music behind DJ:
NFL FILMS MUSIC
Mostly written and arranged by Sam Spence (who wrote more that 700 pieces for it), NFL Films music is unlike anything on earth. Find more of it here: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=nfl+films+music&aq=0
Bill Cosby  ERIN AND THE FOOTBALL GAME   Options
Charlie Weaver (Cliff Arquette)  FIGHT FOR SUBNORMAL U   Options Charlie is grandfather to Rosanna, Patricia and David. Here's some footage from What's My Line: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1EQURhO11U and also some outtakes from Hollywood Squares: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ra4Zk5CSSPQ&feature=related

Music behind DJ:
NFL FILMS MUSIC
Here's where this music came from: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKGKe1B4rBU NFL Films has a true knack for presenting the fluid grace that is football, despite being performed by overweight monsters.
Tom Patchett & Jay Tarses  HALFTIME SHOW   Options I had to take this from a tape of my football show of 1997, so you will hear a genuine, antique WFMU Station ID that was broadcast from East Orange, NJ. Ah, memories!
Buckner and Garcia  MERRY XMAS IN THE NFL   Options Jerry Buckner and Gary Garcia are from Akron Ohio. Best known for their Video Game Operas [Pac Man Fever, Froggy's Lament), this was their first recording (under the name Wiilis the Guard & Vigorish). Here's their Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckner_%26_Garcia
Anonymous  DAYS 9-12 IN THE NFL   Options From a totally obnoxious record (which I buried in my back yard, I think) that give different version of 12 Days for each of the NFL teams in the league in the mid-70s or so. It's the same orchestration with different names and gets old very quickly, as you can see.
Comittee  WIDE WORLD OF WAR   Options Couldn't find anything on these guys (Why don't YOU look up 'Comittee' and see what you get), but they were fairly big in the 60s.
DJ Rappenstein  GIVE THE BALL TO RAPPENSTEIN   Options

Music behind DJ:
NFL FILMS MUSIC
Here's a rap video for this one with DJ Quik: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nqgnPdQdP4
Tom Patchett & Jay Tarses  WRAP UP   Options And who could forget Da Bears: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=irB6M6a1nyY&feature=related
Shelley Fabares  FOOTBALL SEASON'S OVER   Options From the Donna Reed Show, here's Shelley lip-synching her biggest hit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIuYd0GzMjs
Don't forget that there are special podcasts for both the Steelers and the Packers at the Bitslap podcast page. My prediction: Packers 27-24
