Awesome segue from groovy C&W to this gonging/Bruce Nauman-sounding thing.

This is extremely embarrassing, but I lost a needle playing a record backwards once...my gradmother saved a radio aircheck cut directly to disc that started right at the edge of the platter, and to get that very first bit I figured I'd just play it backwards and sample it and reverse it...great idea, but when it ran out of groove, it jumped out, hit the disc mat, and SPROIK! End of an $80 needle.

I'm reading a book about the Okinawans--some of the longest-lived people from on the islands between Japan and Taiwan. Many of them live 90 to 100 years of age.

so i'm reading a few books now, which is unusual for me. i'm usually more monogamous in my reading. but one of them is "how to wreck a nice beach," an excellent history of the vocoder. highly recommended.

It is the Okinawan Program by Wilcox/Suzuki, a study by anthropologist to learn why they disease-free for so long, with no apparent cause of death when they do pass. Yes, it is fascinating!

ALL these sound good! and i'd have to live longer than that to read everything on my list...i read a book each about the Maya; Inca; and Aztec peoples...Not so long lived- but quite extraordinary .Now off to bed, where i'll continue to re-read "the way of zen"(Watts).Thank you Kurt . ...(sorry for cynicism, but now some"scientists" will determine that it's their plums, and the western world will wipe them out of their plums for a few years!) ........OKAY. off to become enlightened ! (haha)

@slugluv1313--I remember chatting with you about going vegan on the playlist before! Thanks for your help, it is a process. I've been blending raw spinach and kale into frozen blueberries and vanilla almond milk (heavan) with my cuisinart. Delicious! I'll have to look into the China study next!
