Non-commercial indie-pop-rock, but with plenty of WTF? non-sequitur delightful/irritating moments; 90% stuff we've never heard before (45% you'll hate, 45% you'll love), 10% stuff we've heard before (5% you hate, 5% you love). (29 words, 6 numbers.)

hey BobW. For those in the Baltimore area anytime soon, the wooden machine on the FMU homepage is probably from the Visionary Arts Museum there. GREATEST museum in the world. There are about a hundred of those little machines on display.

Okay, "diffiult, controversial" Erykah Badu video. Discuss. Personally, if there hadn't been that exposition at the beginning, it would have been way more powerful.

cecile:
good song, though. | |

Cecile:
I'm grumpy. Tom Sawyer deal is one of the very few records on this station that I would say that I could do better than that. But I know it's 'FMU and in two minutes, something will come on that will make me happy.

ah phuck! That's something I can't find in the DC area--phaux pho. I've never even tasted pho because I went veggie before I knew about it.
Mon. 4/5/10 10:31am
dc pat:
I tried to make faux pho once but people, I'll tell you, don't try to make a recipe when you don't even know how it's suppose to taste...

the veggie vietnamese joint is called LAN CAFE. it's on "indian row" on 6th street. there's also a few new joints in the EV that feature non-meat vietnamese sandwiches - veggie and fish.

Definitely a fan of most very be careful stuff.
Mon. 4/5/10 10:50am
Cecile:
That's cool, Carm. We had hard-boiled egg curry last night.
Mon. 4/5/10 10:52am
Carmichael:
Wow, that actually sounds pretty good, even though I'm not an egg fan. We took an in-your-face approach to holiday tradition by BBQing babybacks and chateaubriand.
Mon. 4/5/10 10:58am
Cecile:
My husband likes eggs, but not hard-boiled ones, and he thought it was pretty all right. I'll have to tweak some more.

I first heard some cuts from "Music Has the Right to Children" quite a long time ago. I thought the whole album was great, but I haven't paid much attention since.

Mon. 4/5/10 11:59am
Duke of Earl Grey:
I thought their 2nd album "Geogaddi" was great even if not quite as amazing as "Music Has the Right...." And actually, BoC *were* pretty huge (for electronic music), weren't they?
Mon. 5/17/10 10:58pm

I think I love the band harangue. I hear glam, I hear fractured folk, I hear artrock, I hear the Ponys and I've never even heard the Ponys! Fleet Foxes should write stuff so challenging.
