Listener comments!

  3:27pm
Jim:

I just webbed in a pledge in memory of Phil Kraus. I buried him too soon. I should've said in *honor* of Phil Kraus.
  3:27pm
Cecile:

Fabio!
That Science Fiction Corporation is nutty!
Happy Fundraising!
  3:28pm
Cecile:

I have not come to bury Phil, but pledge him.
  3:31pm
Brian:

"Strawberry Phil ..."
  3:31pm
Danne D:

Go Fabio!
Tamar <3 always good to hear you on these airwaves :)
  3:33pm
north guinea hills:

Torn & detourned.....?
  3:36pm
Jimm:

You guys are alive. That is so awesome.
  3:42pm
north guinea hills:

musik von harmonia (their first), came out in 1974
  4:03pm
Cecile:

it's just sunn
  4:10pm
north guinea hills:

(or "sun")
  4:18pm
Cecile:

aw, thanks guys!
  4:23pm
north guinea hills:

oh, fridge, i donated even more, and I just realized I already have the sunn o))) + Pan Sonic/Alan Vega 10" ( i was going to wait until there was a prize I don't already have).
  4:45pm
Essex Co. Resident:

Fells is correct.
  4:46pm
north guinea hills:

Tamar is correct (as a geographer, I can vouch) for Essex Fells & The Netherslands.
  4:50pm
Bas, NL:

That's right: The Netherlands's the lot. North- and South Holland ('Holland') are two of the twelve provinces.
And i think dutch might come from 'Diets' an old version of the Dutch language..
  4:55pm
?:

'Diets' rhymes with 'beets', btw...
  5:02pm
The Failure of Pronunciation:

That ringing sound carries a frequency that causes a muscle in my middle ear to twitch, making an additional thudding sound. Odd.
  5:05pm
Cecile:

We saw this Oscar nominated short called the Lady and the Reaper, which had Cerberus as a three-headed Standard Poodle.
  5:11pm
Bad Attitude:

So when is the next emergency marathon going to be?

  5:15pm
minnesota jeff:

Once that guy gets the Griselator he is going to take up weed again.
  5:30pm
minnesota jeff:

Would anyone here be that bothered if WFMU DJs mentioed they have a premium you can recieve for $75 pledge a handful of times during their regular shows outside of the Marathon?
  5:35pm
Anonymous in Essex Co. NJ:

Jeff, at this rate, they may have to do that. Or cut costs somehow.
  5:36pm
Torontonian:

'Moonstruck' was filmed in Toronto, with bits of Brooklyn.
  5:37pm
Aidan:

Hey Fabio,
I just realized that we played the same festival,
Electric Eclectics in 2007. I was doing improv with Mary Margaret O'Hara....play some of her!!
Great couple of weeks of fundraising
  5:37pm
Don Humber:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_shot_in_Toronto

It's amazing how often Toronto stands in for NYC.
  5:37pm
minnesota jeff:

Essex Co. - $450,000 short at this point with 3.5 Days left. Last year they were $130,000 short and had to do a emergency marathon.
  5:40pm
Cecile:

How close is Fabio to his goal this show?
  5:40pm
minnesota jeff:

I just think SOME mention that they need listener funding through out the year would help a lot - rather than only mentioning it during the marathon.
  5:43pm
north guinea hills:

wait, wasn't this charlemagne palestine on fabio's premium last year?, or did he already mention that and i missed it?
  5:44pm
Cecile:

But that's what makes me listen to 'FMU over other stations. And I think the swag for life is trying to maintain a consistent source of funds.
  5:45pm
Cecile:

And you can also pledge anytime you like via the Web.
  5:46pm
Cecile:

Play Mr. Giant Man again! That always gets everyone going!
  5:49pm
I X Key!:

!
  5:51pm
Cecile:

Get rowdy up in there!
  5:57pm
Cecile:

Mankato = MAN-KAY-TOE
  6:03pm
Anonymous in Essex Co. NJ:

No rowdiness is permitted, Cecile. Not during this marathon. Or else you'll be expelled. Unless you're one of the cognoscenti.

And don't pull Fabio's lariat.
  6:05pm
Cecile:

I am one of the cogno-whatevers.
  6:07pm
Cecile:

Clay, we need some Dusty show time-tested butt rock to get things fired up.
  6:14pm
Cecile:

it's maple flavored farina
  6:16pm
Cecile:

maple oatmeal, I stand corrected
  6:27pm
minnesota jeff:

I listen for the content, and I don't think on the few music breaks for a DJ to go "Check out the online Pledge Premiums and throw some money our way to keep providing this content." So many new listeners in the 52 weeks between the marathons could be better capitalized on I would think. The station is going to get more and more expensive to run as listener ship goes up with Bandwidth costs.
  6:29pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

I've been putting some toasted flax seed into oatmeal lately. It tastes pretty good.
  6:36pm
minnesota jeff:

I love that Clay has Slipknot on his premium disc.
  6:39pm
Anonymous in Essex Co. NJ:

Fabs & the Pidge! Love the combo. But Fabs, the Pidge, and Slipknot all together? What's that about?
  6:48pm
420:

Fabs is high right now.
