Fri. 12/4/09 4:01pm From: Cecile

very true, and the amazing comics!

Fri. 12/4/09 4:05pm From: v k

overall, i assume BW's passion is for a less traditional program (e.g., Dusty Show), hence the move; who knows real reason; whatever it is, i remain supportive

Fri. 12/4/09 4:29pm From: Bad Ronald

...and Mr. MC Billy Jam the man who made it necessary!

Fri. 12/4/09 4:30pm From: Jeff from St.Paul

Charmichael - I was just thinking the same thing. I know the front man for them was in some other band, but I can't think of the name. The band was in the movie "Class Act" (a kid n' play movie) they played at the very end of it.

Fri. 12/4/09 5:13pm From: Todd 76%

I wonder if anyone's ever documented the influence of CTI Records in the 70's (Bob James, Grover Washington, Hubert Laws, Freddy Hubbard, Don Sebesky et al) on hip hop and R&B. Samples and reworkings of tunes from that catalog are everywhere in 80's and 90's hip hop/R&B/D&B. Reviled by 'serious jazzheads' of the time, they mostly sound great now. Thanks for the brill jams as usual, Billy!!!

Fri. 12/4/09 5:17pm From: Paul

Yo Bill gotta jet be in contact soon. Yo Alf thanks for the Quest link will check it out later. Have a good one. Peace, One Love

Fri. 12/4/09 5:17pm From: north guinea hills

Fri. 12/4/09 5:21pm From: Timi Dz... Nutz

Hey All...Great Show today.!.! but i gota go....

Fri. 12/4/09 5:25pm From: Todd 76%

@ngh: bizzare and cool that he put out recordings on both ESP and CTI, innit?

Fri. 12/4/09 5:34pm From: Cecile

I remember how CTI used to just get slagged as well as more r 'n' b laced works by Gato Barbieri. It put me off them, but later, not seeing them as pure jazz records but great funk and pop records, they stood up really well.

Fri. 12/4/09 5:45pm From: Cecile

ah, Dilla

Fri. 12/4/09 5:46pm From: Ike

Wow, what's Liz reading there?

Fri. 12/4/09 5:49pm From: Jessica

It's like you're rt here, in my head. Coming back, just in time to disappear.
Another week, another surgical repair, but it's nice being here for now. But srsly: fuck the [Berkeley] PD

Fri. 12/4/09 5:52pm From: Ike

Or to be more specific, what is "The Moment of Truth" and where does it come from?
