Thu. 12/25/08 2:16am whiskers:

is/are there any songs/compositions regarding bell bottom pants? merci

Thu. 12/25/08 2:24am Meghan:

There is... but that is not a bell really is it?

Thu. 12/25/08 2:25am Chuck:

Hi Meg, Hi Jess. Happy NONSECTARIAN Holiday to you both.

Thu. 12/25/08 2:27am Meghan:

Hey there Chuck! Right back at ya!

Thu. 12/25/08 2:30am Chuck:

Knew it was you when Godspeed hit the airwaves. The previous DJ was, frankly annoying. Why didn't he cut those yo-yo's on the phone off? WHEW!

Thu. 12/25/08 2:33am Meghan:

Yeah... Godspeed was perfect... i been trying to figure out a way to play that song... and TA DA!

Thu. 12/25/08 2:36am Chuck:

Not to mention that it's a fairly long track, so it gives you time to set the rest of your stuff up. I know the drill from doing stuff at VKR.

Thu. 12/25/08 2:42am Chuck:

I did download the car show. Listened, not as impressed as with the train show, but I'll let it slide. You had much less time to prepare for it.

Thu. 12/25/08 2:43am Meghan:

Yeah i always get people wanting me to play some sound effects to start a show... i look at em like- yeah those last all of 30 sec. not happening

Thu. 12/25/08 2:49am Chuck:

I'll always be down with some Blondie. Technically, those are chimes though. You and Jess have given a new definition to "chicks". *CACKLE, CACKLE*

Thu. 12/25/08 2:51am Meghan:

har de har har

Thu. 12/25/08 2:55am Chuck:

What? Like you didn't bring it on yourself? You would have called me on something like that in a flat second!

Thu. 12/25/08 2:55am ketchup lover:

i love it!

Thu. 12/25/08 2:59am Meghan:

Thanks Ketchup! And you are so right Chuck!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:02am EAP:

Of the bells:
Keeping time, time, time,
In a sort of Runic rhyme,
To the throbbing of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells-
To the sobbing of the bells;
Keeping time, time, time,
As he knells, knells, knells,
In a happy Runic rhyme,
To the rolling of the bells-
Of the bells, bells, bells:
To the tolling of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells-
Bells, bells, bells-
To the moaning and the groaning of the bells.

Thu. 12/25/08 3:04am Chuck:

Love the Byrds! My band does some of their tunes. And EAP is doing the Phil song I sent you.

Thu. 12/25/08 3:05am Meghan:

Got it... will be on the country set. Thanks EAP!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:21am Chuck:

Jess, you're sort of scaring me now. I thought I was the ultimate dweeb. What title can I now hold in life if you take that from me?!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:27am jess:

Please, I was the cool kid you were jealous of!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:31am Chuck:

More like the kid I would have gladly SHOT for being so self-rightously irritating!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:31am Meghan:

Ohhh children children.... play nice!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:36am jay:

merry merry joy to you and your show just right to do the cooking to from London U.K

Thu. 12/25/08 3:37am adam ali:

Thu. 12/25/08 3:38am meghan:

Thanks Jay! A Merry Merry to you as well! Making some figgy pudding?

Thu. 12/25/08 3:40am Meghan:

Ahhh Adam... i do love me some Belle and Sebastian, but it has Christmas in the title... no Xmas music tonight!

Thu. 12/25/08 3:41am deaf & dumb bats in the belfry:

........................................................

Thu. 12/25/08 3:47am jay:

Thu. 12/25/08 3:49am Meghan:

ahhh the ode of a Vegetarian Xmas meal!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:06am Chuck:

Why would anyone commit an act of violence over anything on TV? People are weird and scary!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:09am People are weird and scary!:

U can say that again

Thu. 12/25/08 4:11am Chuck:

Though once was enough. They might be giants! Nice!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:30am Chuck:

I was wondering when you were gonna get to this one.

Thu. 12/25/08 4:31am Meghan:

Saving up the big guns for wicked tiredness.... waking us all up!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:38am Chuck:

Should have my speakers pointed out the front windows. This stuff would melt all the snow outside! (Of course, the neighbors wouldn't appreciate it much!)

Thu. 12/25/08 4:39am Andy in Berlin:

Just tuned in - where's If I Were A Bell?!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:40am Meghan:

Hey andy! Wie geht's!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:41am Andy in Berlin:

Nicht schlecht!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:43am Gibby in Manchester:

We going to get Jeff Mills 'The Bells'?

Thu. 12/25/08 4:47am Meghan:

Hey Gibby... just looked it up... not seeing it. one album... but not that song! Sorry!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:49am Gibby:

Well, seeing as it's Christmas I'll let you off. Awesome show Meghan, happy holidays.

Thu. 12/25/08 4:50am Meghan:

Phew... thanks Gibby! A Merry Happy to you too!

Thu. 12/25/08 4:56am jefrey:

Great show! How about some Jingle Bells?

Thu. 12/25/08 5:03am Meghan:

no xmas music... sorry! it's a rule

Thu. 12/25/08 5:03am jay:

yea my vote for some c&w jingle bell stuff :)

Thu. 12/25/08 5:04am person in country:

King Diamond - Bell Witch? I doubt he likes Christmas, either...

Thu. 12/25/08 5:05am stephen:

Book of Love, Tubular Bells?

Thu. 12/25/08 5:06am jay:

there you go thats some jingle bells :)

Thu. 12/25/08 5:07am jefrey:

Oh well, I could have sworn that Thom Yorke was mumbling something about Christmas a few minutes ago. If I can't have some stupid version of jingle bells, King Diamond would make my morning!

Thu. 12/25/08 5:08am Meghan:

Looking for that King Diamond... not finding it so far! Still looking! I do have Book of Love on laptop, so that can be played! I'll make the last bit all requests if I can find em!

Thu. 12/25/08 5:10am Andy in Berlin:

I have a great one for you - the Ding Dong Song (I hear the bells go ding dong inside my heart). It might be in the library or you can just take it from Liz Berg's show from Nov. 3 2008 <http://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/29177>. The artist is Shao Fong Fong.
Trust me it's great!

Thu. 12/25/08 5:12am Chuck:

Yeah, I was thinking of sugguesting Mike Oldfields "Tubular Bells" myself. I figured you already had a hold on that one. It's kind of a long track though, don't know if you'll have time left.

Thu. 12/25/08 5:12am person in country:

Well I did screw up the artist name, Mercyful Fate it should be. My bad.

Thu. 12/25/08 5:14am Meghan:

No King Diamond... so sorry. Andy, lemme look for it...not on the MP3 Library. What kind of music? Just so i know what section...

Thu. 12/25/08 5:18am jefrey:

Yes, Merciful Fate... Why, why, why? Listen to the bells.

Thu. 12/25/08 5:21am Andy in Berlin:

It's Chinese pop music. If you can, just play it off the archive from Liz. I

Thu. 12/25/08 5:25am Meghan:

Found it Andy! No mercyful fate... not that song at least

Thu. 12/25/08 5:27am Andy in Berlin:

Great! Thanks Meghan!

Thu. 12/25/08 5:42am Chuck:

Soundtrack to an American early 1950's film depicting the Chinese as a primitive and backwards people. Very sad... You've got a bad connection somewhere!!!

Thu. 12/25/08 5:48am Andy in Berlin:

To Chuck - loosen up. this was a very popular song that was recorded by a lot of different Chinese artists. It's on a lot of Taiwanese compilations. The recording I have in only in Chinese.

Thu. 12/25/08 5:55am Chuck:

To Andy- It was just my initial impression. Suppose I have seen too many films from very racist periods in Ameican history. So, is the song in Cantonese or Mandarin?

Thu. 12/25/08 6:08am Andy in Berlin:

It's in Mandarin. I used to live with a girl from Taiwan and she had a whole bunch of cassettes from some kind of historical pop music series (the cd that I found was from yet another historical pop music series) and there was lots of great stuff on it, both Chinese and covers of American stuff. A fabulous Chinese version of River of No Return, BTW. But what movie did you hear that in?
