Carter was on Charlie Rose the eve of his birthday. He's pretty amazing. Don't feel bad about Close Encounters. I get the same feeling when I see Richard Dreyfuss.

When I was a young boy (well, young enough) I went to see Close Encounters in a suggestible state. I came out transfixed by moving lights into a night-time city and felt so carried away I could have run into the side of a passing bus. Apart from that I don't remember it as scary!
