A little skit for the skittish, to begin the bumpy portion of the program. Bumpy because I was dazed from leaving the rural midwest, being thrust in Torah carrying fame for a Bar Mitzvah service in NJ, and then bouncing from the East Village to WFMU. Oi and Oy.

Isn't that a quaint little title? I love songs that are soothing and sweet but repetitive to the point that they start to feel like water torture.

Ecstasy was a terrible drug for me to try. This song reminds me of walking slowly up a Park Slope street, walking the dog I was dog sitting, walking with heavy feet to the apartment, putting on Hadid by Quickspace, and literally falling on the floor with a crash upon the first notes. I had a bruised forehead the following morning. It's a good record by the band that used to be Th' Faith Healers.

This just has that early 70's feeling where psychedelia and easy listening connect and songs have titles like "It Comes With The Breezes". For some reason, someone told me if I liked this singer I would like the video of Patti Smith singing "You Light Up My Life". I can't see the connection, but if you are so inclined it's on youtube.

A strangely calm song from this Metallic Falcons member, strange because I learned in school that a wounded whale reacts quite violently. By the way, I just saw this album for about $2 on Amazon and I recommend it highly!

I didn't think I would fall for this one, being on the fence about Gonzales and his past music. But this really hits the spot in that melancholic, Erik Satie/Les Disques Du Crepuscule sort of way.

Amazing music from the singer behind Pere Ubu- definitely one of those "other 80's" albums that had the sort of emotional qualities many albums of the decade had but at the same time was completely in a different realm.
