Street interviews with everyone from the homeless to the glitterati. Live call-ins, hyper-editing, original fiction, and obscure vinyl exhumation. Clay's soft-spoken ways elicit love from guests and listeners alike.

Older Guy In Park Exhibits Flippance

American Mutt
|
|
A short monologue concerning "Gordie's Garage" in my hometown. It ends up being sadly boring. I was recently back there to visit and noticed that Gordie's had been leveled and was gone. It happens more and more. The buildings and places of youth are destroyed to make way for the soulless aluminum sheds of today. All things must pass.

Love this song and this album. In fact, I need to download "Tragedy," a cool Russ Ballard song. Argent features Rod Argent of The Zombies.

Decca

Burl, the pride of Hunt, Illinois, recorded TONS of records for Decca. He was blacklisted as a possible communist in the 50s and cooperated with the Feds to ferret out commies. Hence, he was hated by folks like Pete Seeger, but, ultimately they kissed and made up later in life. I dig Burl.

A Conversation With Tony
|
|
Tony was one of the most unique characters I've ever encountered. He was psychotic and his face was covered with white paint. His lips were yellow and he occasionally would cover his face with black lace when he decided to be "dead." He was, admittedly, a bit scary, but ... I'm grateful to have met him and to have been able to introduce you to him.

A Canadian National Treasure. His songs have been recorded by many great artists. Lightfoot is still performing, though an abdominal aneurism put him into a 4-month coma a few years ago.

Thanks for listening to this weeks show everyone. I hope you enjoyed the interviews, improvs and the story. I suppose it might be seen as indulgent for me to read my own writings and to improv at your expense. What can I say? I guess I have to think enough of my own abilities to foist things out there. Write me and let me know what you think. I am always curious as to your opinions about anything and everything. dusty@wfmu.org I'm putting the D-SAM back in service to so call me and leave a message I can play on the show. Talk about anything you like. Get creative. Don't be shy. 201 521 1375 Until next time, please keep tuning in. Your support is appreciated more than you know! Take care and ... always remember! CP
