Good morning to you !

Mon. 6/9/08 9:07am From: Parq

Hello, Mizz Liz, on this insanely hot morning in metro NYC. To our overseas friends, if it's pleasant where you are, you'd best stay there. Me, I'll stay tuned until my radio melts.

Mon. 6/9/08 9:07am From: Liz B.

Morning Kosta, does this mean it's your b-day today? If so, happy inhaling!

Mon. 6/9/08 9:12am From: Bad Ronald

Morning folks. Nice mellow set so far to ease into a sweltering Monday AM...

Mon. 6/9/08 9:13am From: Kosta

Thanks Liz, was on Saturday... have thrown away inhaler and will substitute for your show through headphones! Cool band you may have/have not come across... drog_A_tek...

Mon. 6/9/08 9:16am From: vicki - people like us

Our album is a digital-only release available from bleep.com, rather than Arts Council :)

Mon. 6/9/08 9:17am From: Liz B.

Thanks for clearing that up, Vicki, we have errant information here, it seems!

Mon. 6/9/08 9:19am From: vicki - people like us

Arts Council England paid for it and the Codpaste series to be developed so we had to include their logo

Mon. 6/9/08 9:27am From: fisch monger

big blod rule!

Mon. 6/9/08 9:29am From: Parq

Vicki, the stuff I've heard from the album is fabulous, and I've definitely got buying a download on my to-do list.

Mon. 6/9/08 9:30am From: vicki - people like us

Mon. 6/9/08 9:32am From: fishmonkeystew

thats it - im gonna have to get internet at home! Happy lie-ins! Deerhoof in next week? Defo have to get internet now...

Mon. 6/9/08 9:37am From: Liz B.

Cryptacize is next week, not Deerhoof (but Chris Cohen of Cryptacize used to be in Deerhoof).

Mon. 6/9/08 9:37am From: Parq

I was gonna say, Kosta, if you haven't got puter access to the station at home, this will be as good a reason as any to change that.

Mon. 6/9/08 9:39am From: Bad Ronald

Hi Parq - Did you make the Block Party BBQ this weekend?

Mon. 6/9/08 9:40am From: andrew

love the pink flag!

Mon. 6/9/08 9:43am From: Parq

I actually didn't. Ron. All that heat, all those crowds -- my tolerance of that sort of thing is way lower than it used to be. You?

Mon. 6/9/08 9:44am From: Hatch

I can already tell I'm gonna have this Van Duren song stuck in my head all day.

Mon. 6/9/08 9:45am From: C

Yeah, thanks for the tip on the BBQ, Parq. I didn't make it either for the same reasons. I strongly suggest visiting the David Byrne "Playing the Building" installation, though. It's incredible

Mon. 6/9/08 9:45am From: Bad Ronald

I took the same tack as you.

Mon. 6/9/08 9:45am From: Kosta

Ta Liz, Parq, yup - can resist that one

Mon. 6/9/08 9:51am From: toni daytona

Mon. 6/9/08 10:07am From: Kosta

I was in french school through most of the 80's i remember Lio from then - the girls used to worship her! Caroline Loeb anyone?

Mon. 6/9/08 10:42am From: miss buxley

liz b. what is your opinion of professor dum dum, i think hes completely insane & annoyin,do you agree??

Mon. 6/9/08 10:45am From: Laurie

This Titus Andronicus is getting me HYPED for ShovelMedia.com fest

Mon. 6/9/08 10:48am From: R. Pagoda

I'm stoked to see T. Andronicus with Times New Viking later this month.

Mon. 6/9/08 10:53am From: Liz B.

Titus Andronicus was great when I saw 'em last week (they opened for Black Lips)! People were crowd-surfing: it was like the '90s all over again!

Mon. 6/9/08 11:07am From: Laurie

They apparently still do crowd surfing in Minneapolis, if the one show I attended during my trip there is representative. (I saw Melt-Banana for freeeeee, because Midwestern WFMU listeners are nice and put you on guest lists.)

People in Miami do not crowd surf. They do, however, sit on the banquettes instead of dancing on the floor, take mySpace pictures of themselves, talk on their cellphones, and talk amongst themselves -- in raised voices, mind you, in a sorry attempt to talk over the fucking band they paid to see. This stuff happens in parts of town where there are bars, with no cover charge, on the same block that would be more appropriate for their gabfests. :(

Mon. 6/9/08 11:07am From: Laurie

By the way, any advice for a first time Pitchfork festival goer? Should I bring a pic-a-nic blanket?

Mon. 6/9/08 11:29am From: Liz B.

Bummer about the Miami fans, Laurie... Brooklyn is getting pretty bad in a different way:

Mon. 6/9/08 11:40am From: HotRod

Mornin' lady!

Mon. 6/9/08 11:42am From: Laurie

The ladies love Santogold.

Mon. 6/9/08 11:45am From: dc pat

jeeze, maybe we should go back to the days of confiscating cameras...

Mon. 6/9/08 11:45am From: dc pat

...at the door... and cell phones too...

Mon. 6/9/08 11:47am From: Jonny B

But if cameras were confiscated, how would I obnoxiously talk on my cellphone throughout the entire show about how the band is alright but not as good as XYZ?

Mon. 6/9/08 11:49am From: Liz B.

Seriously, if these folks don't mind their manners, someone might make fun of them on the internet.

Mon. 6/9/08 11:50am From: bwalker

mocking on an internet radio station playlist to boot!!

Mon. 6/9/08 11:58am From: dc pat

firmly believe that the reason some people have ear problems is not because of the volume of the bands they see, but because their friends try to talk to them by yelling in their ears over the band.

Mon. 6/9/08 11:58am From: d

jackson conti is madlib + a guy from azymuth.

Mon. 6/9/08 8:27pm From: gerardo

Que tal, Liz

Back here at last, updating after a couple of weeks dwelling with a severe flu (winter's not like in the old days, haha)

Great show this one - and even greater reading comments from the very artists played and other colorful 'fmu djs

Hope to be listening to you live next week ;)

Nos estamos viendo

(btw, happy inhaling to you, Kosta!)

Thu. 7/3/08 2:09am From: Cynthia

I heart this weeks show. I really do. And Yelle makes me want to dance around with the refrigerator door open.
