Hello, Mizz Liz, on this insanely hot morning in metro NYC. To our overseas friends, if it's pleasant where you are, you'd best stay there. Me, I'll stay tuned until my radio melts.

I was gonna say, Kosta, if you haven't got puter access to the station at home, this will be as good a reason as any to change that.

I actually didn't. Ron. All that heat, all those crowds -- my tolerance of that sort of thing is way lower than it used to be. You?

Yeah, thanks for the tip on the BBQ, Parq. I didn't make it either for the same reasons. I strongly suggest visiting the David Byrne "Playing the Building" installation, though. It's incredible

Titus Andronicus was great when I saw 'em last week (they opened for Black Lips)! People were crowd-surfing: it was like the '90s all over again!
Mon. 6/9/08 11:07am
From:
Laurie
They apparently still do crowd surfing in Minneapolis, if the one show I attended during my trip there is representative. (I saw Melt-Banana for freeeeee, because Midwestern WFMU listeners are nice and put you on guest lists.)
People in Miami do not crowd surf. They do, however, sit on the banquettes instead of dancing on the floor, take mySpace pictures of themselves, talk on their cellphones, and talk amongst themselves -- in raised voices, mind you, in a sorry attempt to talk over the fucking band they paid to see. This stuff happens in parts of town where there are bars, with no cover charge, on the same block that would be more appropriate for their gabfests. :(

But if cameras were confiscated, how would I obnoxiously talk on my cellphone throughout the entire show about how the band is alright but not as good as XYZ?

firmly believe that the reason some people have ear problems is not because of the volume of the bands they see, but because their friends try to talk to them by yelling in their ears over the band.
