Listener comments!

Thu. 3/6/08 2:36am (mta) Tony:

Good morning, guys... Good to hear Stan BACK co-hosting again. Good luck tonight in achieving your Marathon Goal. Pola sends her regards as well. Hi Benjamen, you two should have some fun tonight. Everybody has fun when Stan is around!

Thu. 3/6/08 3:09am (mta) Tony:

Hand to God, you're not going to believe this, but it was the SAME SONG ("Turn Me On" by Rotary Connection) that got ME turned onto fmu as well!! I discovered fmu in the same way (turning the dial), but I did it as a child of 14 in '67, and have listened ever since. How's THAT for a coincidence? Incredible but TRUE!

Thu. 3/6/08 3:19am (mta) Tony:

I even remember the NEXT song I'll never forget fmu turning me onto: Paul Siebel's "Then Came The Children." I remember how it made me cry. You can find it on his "Woodsmoke and Oranges" CD, or, "Washington Square Memories, disc 3" in case you feel like playing it for your listeners. For me, it's one of the most beautiful songs of all time. Thanks, fmu, for a lifetime of musical memories. As an adult, I now donate as much as I can. Now if only EVERYONE donated as much as they could!

Thu. 3/6/08 3:59am Chris Arundel:

Power to your collective elbows at WFMU. How about setting up another transmitter in the UK?

Thu. 3/6/08 4:02am jason:

,man stop talking so much!!!! i go on break i hear talking, i come back i hear talking, i am broke or i would pay for the cause of wfmu's dj's to zip it.

Thu. 3/6/08 4:11am dj:

dear Jason
we do this 2 weeks a year - that's it - hope you can find it in your heart to pledge

Thu. 3/6/08 4:15am jason:

i was just kidding! seriously i am broke til sat.! have to pay for gas and food. usually i am not broke but i am right now. i do have a heart sir but theres no money inside..

Thu. 3/6/08 4:18am (mta) Tony:

Yeah Jason, Perhaps you're new to the scene. FMU's music sets usually last up to an hour long without interruption, and even then, it's only to announce what you've heard. During this time, listeners contribute to the cost of maintaining such a talk-free environment. You DO NOT NEED any money now! They'll send you a bill later in the mail. Pay when you can! You'll be glad you did once you find out what family you've joined.

Thu. 3/6/08 4:41am Steve Barton:

Tell Bryce that Station Manager Ken said "No practicing" for this year's end of marathon bash -- he said it should be like real karaoke, with all performers drunk and unready to sing.

Thu. 3/6/08 5:53am (mta) Tony:

Truly I'm so glad you reached your Marathon goal this morning. You were really in a state of depression for a while, but thanx to Stan and his levity and of course your listeners, you made it all the way up to a grand. Excellent first Marathon show, Benjamen!
