Proud to say that Andy Williams is from Wall Lake, Iowa, very near my boyhood home of Audubon. Other celebrities from this neck of the woods include, Donna Reed (Denison) CW McCall (Audubon) and Johnny Carson (Corning) ... oh yes, John Wayne (Winterset) and Herbert Hoover (West Branch).

Couldn't find any info on this Nancy Martin version of Single Girl. The budget LP it came from looks pretty obscure, with lots of no-name artists covering hits by more famous contemporaries. I like this Nancy Martin version and I hope that she is out there somewhere and doing fine. Perhaps she will Google herself and find this entry, If so, Nancy. We dig you. I think the hit was by Sandy Posey. Nancy does a nice job with it, though.

David Soul of Starskey and Hutch fame. This song was written by Tony MacCauley, who also wrote "Love Grows Where My Rosemary Goes (Edison's Lighthouse) and Now That I've Found You (The Foundations). Great song. It makes me achingly nostalgic for my senior year ... the Bi-Cenntennial!!!!

Stonewall is from North Carolina and was named after the famous Civil War Veteran, who was his ancestor. He has had over 30 country hits since his honky-tonk heyday in the late-50's. He sued the Opry for $10,000,000 recently for age discrimination. Don't know if he won.

Another show comes to an end and I am VERY grateful that YOU listened to it. I would love to hear from you. Write me an e-mail and tell me where you are and how life is treating you. It's easy ... dusty@wfmu.org Also ... if you get a chance, please call the D-SAM (The Dusty Show Answering Machine) and leave a message for me to play during the show. It's up and running again after a momentary silence, I've been doing these shows for a long time now and it's still fun. I know they aren't the same as they used to be, but life changes and now it is a reflection of life in MAnhattan as opposed to Wisconsin. Do I miss the
"old days?" Sometimes. I miss the country and the wide open spaces ... and, admittedly, sometimes it was eassier to be introspective when I lived alone. Life is good now, though, and I love the city and my new existence. I hope that you will continue to take the trip with me. For a few of you, it started way back in 1998 in Florida. It's great that you have followed along over the years. And for you new listeners, welcome. Always glad to have you with me. Thanks again everyone. Take care for now and ... always remember. CP08
