Live performance by Redwing Blackbird |
|||||
|
This acoustic duo from Peterborough, New Hampshire pour out some of the most soothing and beautiful melodies from the surrounding woods. Redwing Blackbird's Austin Wright and Eric Gagne interweave their vocals in a very pastoral setting. They played a number of songs from their debut, "Redwing Blackbird" and a few new ones as well. |

And I've been dying to ask you to play some Peter Walker, but that would probably be redundant at this point. Maybe next week? And how about having Peter back on your show sometime...? Thanks Irene.

I might be persuaded to play something by Peter later. If I don't get to it, certainly next week.

Archmo-- Lacrymosa is Caitlin Pasko, a student at NYU's music school and she is currently unsigned. I do know she's doing a set this Wednesday night at the Sidewalk Cafe. Her myspace page is http://www.myspace.com/lacrymosa

Irene - Great show as usual. What's this drony/bell toned music you're playing behind your mic breaks? Thanks.

Ah, the drone is the Boudhanath Bell in Tibet. David Hykes, who was on a couple of weeks ago, recorded it and looped it. He gave me a copy to play on air. It's an amazing tone!

Thanks a lot. I just saw that my station (KZSU, Stanford) has 4 David Hykes CDs. Was he also the person who talked to about "healing music" and its perception?
