Playlist for Irene Trudel - November 26, 2007

Mondays Noon - 3pm on WFMU 91.1 fm 90.1 fm wfmu.org

Little fluffy clouds of music, occasionally darkened by sonic thunderheads; with a sunny lining of stringed instruments and live performances now and then.

Greta Gertler and The Extroverts - Oz Yorker (Australian New Yorker), Greta Gertler transplanted her lovely soprano from the shores of Sydney to trashily fashionable Willamsburg an number of years ago. Since then Ms. Gertler became both a headliner and treasured contributor to the Brooklyn music scene. Greta Gertler shared musical treats from her album "Edible Restaurant" (to be released at Joe's Pub on Friday, November 30) with members of her psychedelic tuba-rock band, The Extroverts. Their music ranges from the heartiest goulash you've ever heard, to cucumber-sandwichy snacks of sound.
