Hi Maria. This year I am on the receiving end of the transaction (or the giving end, depending on which aspect you emphasize). While the teenager is out whooping it up wit her buds, the Mrs. and I will be at the door waiting for our neighbors' young children to come by. I have bought miniature Mounds, Hershey bars and Reeses cups. That oughta hold 'em. For the record, the kid is Poison Ivy (the comic book villain, not the plant).
  4:30pm
wordz:

Maria:
Are your Halloween tastes geared towards the traditional Sowain-based celebration or do you dig all this crass commercialism Halloween's become. Your musical tastes make me think you're most comfortable dancing about a bonfire paying homage to the earth gods.
  4:34pm
Fcunmys:

Happy Hallows Eve! I am outta here!!! Watch yourselves tonight. I'm the one with the evil sister.!!!! BEWARE!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
  4:38pm
maria:

wordz- yes you are about right, tho sadly lacking a bonfire here in the city.
  4:54pm
XMALICE-Crooklyn:

And remember people, at the toll of the witching hour tonight, just 54 shopping days left til Christmas!!!! UGH!
  4:59pm
Sean Padilla:

I never thought I would hear funk jams on a Halloween-themed radio program. Thank (insert your deity of choice) for WFMU!
  5:10pm
wordz:

I hear you, Maria. Though the dark side of me wouldn't mind making a bonfire out of these eyesore developments sprouting all over the place. But, alas, it's against the law and I've a family to support. But it would be nice to make the Donald and his ilk tremble in fear. Especially tonight. Agreed? Happy All Hallows! Maria
  5:12pm
pumpkin jones:

Hey XMALICE-Crooklyn--just the fact that it's supposedly "Christmas Time" in 12 hours is truly, truly terrifying
  5:14pm
Joe in San Fran:

re: wordz

jeez, can't a DJ play creepy sounding music on Halloween with out some asshat getting his skirts in a tizzy? Thx Maria - music has been great all day.
  5:19pm
XMALICE-Crooklyn:

Pumpkin Jones: When they start erecting plastic Christmas trees and candy canes alongside the jack-o-lanterns and the monster make-up, I can think of no other way of expressing it but terrifying! Enjoy the night while you can.
  5:27pm
wordz:

Jose frm S.F. And sorry your Halloween parade got canceled due to the earthquake last night, too!
  5:28pm
barry franklin:

  5:30pm
jetblack:

Criswell rules!!!!!
  5:36pm
XMALICE-Crooklyn:

Maria: what is your favorite lesbian vampire movie?:

Vadim's Blood & Roses, Daughters of Darkness, Vampyros Lesbos, or The Hunger w/Bowie, Denevue & Sarandon? No pressure just thought to ask.
  5:55pm
Parq:

If I may, commercialism spoiling holidays is like someone taking advantage of you - it can't happen unless you permit it to.
  5:55pm
maria:

Yessssss
  11:40pm
gregory:

Hey Maria, just listening to this show a few days late. Bugs Bunny has been using the phrase "I knew I should have taken a left at Albuquerque" since the 1940's. I believe he coined the phrase. Just in case you were wondering where it came from. He pops up from his tunnel, lost, looks at his map and exclaims the famous line.
