Live performance and chat with David Garland
|
Once described by The Village Voice as "a superb, crazily imaginative songwriter," David Garland has been releasing albums since 1987 that are both beautiful and quirky. His voice is known in a completely different context as a longtime radio host for WNYC's Spinning On Air and Evening Music. David reversed roles with Irene as her guest, singing and accompanying himself on 12-string. Over the years David has organized various ensembles of unusual instruments to play his music, but recently he's wanted to see what might happen if he performs his unconventional songs conventionally. For this live in-studio performance David presented his newly devised, innovative performance format: guy with guitar.
