Pier Platters in Hoboken was amazing, the stores in New Brunswick NJ when i was at Douglass (my senior year, my second "off campus" apartment was across the street from Cheap Thrills -- so guess where all my work-study paycheck went 😹😹) and the older i get, the more i find out about others working at some of the larger NYC record stores (i worked at Tower Books downtown, and when that closed, the Outlet across the street)

Definitely think more record stores and such need to still exist but I want to say they need to update their inventory for new people who might be interested in old music and analog forms of collection, rather than a crowd that grew up with records, cassettes and CDS...I know that wasn't the point of what you were talking about but I feel like that's how some of these stores are going to survive, and I very much want to see them do so.
