Turns out there's a Windows setting which automatically lowers the mic volume by 80% if anything happens - an email comes in, a message, etc. I turned that thing off pretty damn sharpish and it seems to have worked, thank goodness :-)

Turns out there's a Windows setting which automatically lowers the mic volume by 80% if anything happens - an email comes in, a message, etc. I turned that thing off pretty damn sharpish and it seems to have worked, thank goodness :-)
