Mind you, I loved Neil Young’s “Trans” outta the gate. & other ‘vocoder’ / electronic voice manipulation type playful stuff (Imogen Heap / diamanda galas / Buffy St Marie, etc). I can even appreciate Cher’s “believe”, etc. But the majority of the pop & hip hop / commercial auto tuned vocals are … sigh🫤.

Imo, their latter period albums still are getting it done (in a significant way). There was the super low of “The Hunter”. But after the hiatuses everything was up by the 2000’s! Btw: do Not sleep on their cable 1hour Berlin concert video = its jaw dropping considering advanced age etc! Drummer Clem Burke is G-O-D!
