This liquor store in my neighborhood years ago suddenly had a window display of booze in bottle in the shape of swords, and I had to have one immediately. The owner was pretty psyched by my enthusiasm for what turned out to be Armenian rum. And then he says, "Do you want to see the real stuff?" I mean, how could I say no. So he takes me in the back room and says, "This neighborhood, so Catholic, they would not understand these. But I think you will." And showed me the booze bottles in the shape of penises.

I guess I understood? At any rate, I stuck with just my sword of Armenian rum.

Alas, it's gone now. The owner was an interesting guy. Older Polish fellow, pretty friendly, really. He had a lifelong dream to go to Africa and finally managed to take the trip in his sixties. Came back, overjoyed with it, but he had caught a parasite and was dead within a month. His wife kept the store going for a couple of years (with a life-size cardboard cutout of her dead husband in the store!). She finally gave it up, and a really expensive yuppie liquor store opened in its place. Terrible store -- jacked the prices like by a third after their first couple of weeks, try to get people into "loyalty programs." Real enshittification of everything shit. We stick with the excellent Polish liquor store a couple blocks away.

I need a change of scene, I think. KC is about the cost of Lincoln and it's got a better music scene. And if you compare the people on the various dating apps... Let's just say there's a stark contrast

I'd probably go next year. I can't do anything until after the election.

Tuna oh my Tuna
The only place I know
I've often thought of leaving you
But don't know where I'd go
For Paris has no barbecue
And Rome just can't compare
With the pretty Texas sunset
When the dust is in the air

Tuna oh my Tuna
Is such fun on Friday nights
When the Jaguars lose another game
And everybody fights

Short film idea... A freeform radio station gives away a somewhat rare record as a pledge give-away but the album ends up being worth WAY more than what they thought. Chaos ensues. Write the ending.
