However, if I could recommend one recent rap album, I'd go with Danny Brown's "Atrocity Exhibition." Yes, named after the Joy Division track. It's got some "Dark Night" vibes.

It was an incredible experience and there's great stuff in every era, but I'm with you about the Golden Age pretty much being from Run-DMC to OutKast for me. However, if I could recommend one recent rap album, I'd go with Danny Brown's "Atrocity Exhibition." Yes, named after the Joy Division track. It's got some "Dark Night" vibes.
