It takes a while to develop, yet it's hypnotizing like most of his projects. Ashra's Belle Alliance album is cool too. He really is one of the kings of delay effects.

For example, I wish there were more songs like 'In Our Angelhood' by Cocteau Twins with that mid-point where the drum machine beat pops through. It typically holds true for most 3:30 to 4 minute tracks, the coolest ear worms being in the middle. If we're talking like Metal Machine Music though or ambient on the other handl, that theory goes out the window.

A friend squinted and said "What does that say?" I opened my jacket so she could get a better look. "Oh, that." Last Spring I wrote a poem about her sister and read it over the air. That was the end of our friendship it seems. Well, I do it to myself. But the ease with which I slit my own throat never existed with other conventional radio stations. Will I stop? Never! WFMU forever.

	♥ 10:49am Chris Hiatt: It's no wonder why I tune in, we always had radio on in the house when I was growing up. The fam was big into the local NPR station's Saturday night line-up: A Prairie Home Companion, Thistle and Shamrock, Folk Sampler, Afro-Pop Worldwide. Then the hometown started a community radio station, which I volunteered at for awhile. I occasionally check back in there and also at a couple other stations, but there is nothing like WFMU. The content is very compelling of course, but the real gem is the archive. I can't think of another station that has archives that are this well documented and organized.

For example, I wish there were more songs like 'In Our Angelhood' by Cocteau Twins with that mid-point where the drum machine beat pops through. It typically holds true for most 3:30 to 4 minute tracks, the coolest ear worms being in the middle. If we're talking like Metal Machine Music though or ambient on the other handl, that theory goes out the window.

The fam was big into the local NPR station's Saturday night line-up: A Prairie Home Companion, Thistle and Shamrock, Folk Sampler, Afro-Pop Worldwide. Then the hometown started a community radio station, which I volunteered at for awhile. I occasionally check back in there and also at a couple other stations, but there is nothing like WFMU. The content is very compelling of course, but the real gem is the archive. I can't think of another station that has archives that are this well documented and organized.

Gotta get the phone version. My fav., not-so-new app is the music recognition app - Shazam. As much as I love Jeff Sarge and his Reggae Schoolroom show, he doesn't publish a playlist, so that app has been a big help.
