indeed. In that market (india) the 350 is the perfect engine. Over here everyone seems drunk with huge engines but honestly the Meteor does everything I ask it to do, including (limited) stretches on the interstate. 50ish is the sweet spot. Lazy good fun.

i guess considerably slower than a japanese counterpart? (maybe just this model) but plenty fast enough i imagine.

@The Oscar: "the Vaporwave scene" -- is that still happening? I thought that died a merciful death years ago! And it figures they (whoever they are) would pick up on something as lame as a mini-disc!

↳ Bas NL @4:23
Well, he used his home lathe to cut records nobody could play right (no two were the same anyway). Which worked since they weren't cut right (probably weren't recorded right)
Besides the point throughout: if you could get something different everytime you play it, even better!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:31pm
coelacanth∅:

if you're using a paper cup (or the like) you don't need the stylus to be mounted in a cartridge. some styli are simple diamonds at the end of a hollow rod; maybe that could be mounted into a longer rod that will clear the spindle, then mounted into the cup?

... a lot of work for a few seconds of...
hey Bas do you know what's on it?!

Definitely something to be said for the smaller engines. I’ve spent 10-hour days on mine & no sore nuthin’… The big Harley 1200s can chew up miles (credit where it’s due) but unless it’s an emergency, why the hell do freeways? That enfield is a back-road beast, no greater joy.

another advantage is parking.
a hiking spot i used to go to had a graveled parking lot with an attendant. the sign said full but i asked if there's room for a bike. he hesitated then said yes if i can back it onto an ascending small patch of grass/dirt (which i could)
he said someone with a big harley tried to do it and made a big mess of it before giving up and leaving.
