EC delivered at Tanglewood last Saturday, age- and speculative infirmity-adjusted.

Bob (I think, last week) was right that Charlie Sexton neither added nor detracted. But probably ill-advised for Elvis to engage in a guitar duel with him.

My ONLY complaint with Nick Lowe and Los Straitjackets was that the set was too short.

Yup, I wouldn't say he gets too deep into the process, more concerned with the shifting personnel, how they fell into Leon's world, what it was like for them, etc. You do get lots of Leon quotes like this one: "Have you ever spent a month in a house with thirty naked people? I have, and it's awesome."

I'm still chucking over the day I was sitting in Liuzza's on Bienville's bar having lunch and there were a couple little brats going wild, running around and shouting. I was facing away from the bar but my companion said "....isn't that 'y'all's mayor? I thought he was in jail?"

I turned around and sure enough, there was Ray, drinking a frozen "schooner" of Coors Light. He was wearing a yellow polo shirt and he had a little gray hair around the back and sides. I thought he was in jail too. Anyway, those were his grandkids.

Liuzza's treated him with great respect, still calling him "Your Honor" and such. I'm sure it was nice for him to be there.
