when i was 25, i ran into the woman i had ended a 3.5 year relationship the spring before at a motherfucker party (that was the name). That was Sept 10. I stayed at her place at loisaida... well, b/c of the events of the next day, we remained in a relationship for the next three months, until i realized the catalyst of being in a relationship... curious times...

My lady & I are going through a rough patch we both don’t know what we want in life. & everything is so confusing it’s leaked into our relationship… at the same time I’m having great things happen personally. Reflecting like crazy it’s been a wild ride. Life is crazy. One day ur a kid, then a teenager, & boom all of a sudden ur in ur mid 20s??? Feel like I turned 20 yesterday at times.

on the other hand -- i got to be friends with the daughter of one of my Mom's high school friends -- she married her "high school sweetheart" after they both finished college, in 1981 -- and all these years later, they are still married and happy, grandkids, etc. -- so go figure

Happy birthday! I remember being totally freaked out at turning 25 ("a quarter of a century!"), which seems amusing after you later find yourself turning other large fractions of a century. But the real thing that hit me was no longer being a kid -- and realizing that I was no longer going to have the "fun" age milestones, like 16 or 18 or 21.

Despite that, good years still lie ahead!

I was a total mess at 25, unhappy with my attempts at relationships yet also still making some awesome lifetime friends, learning more about myself. I took my job way too seriously at the time, though. I strongly advise against that.

At 25 I had just started working but didn't have the money to go out much. In my 30s I started going to more shows, but it took getting into my 40s to break the 200 shows a year mark. I've slowed down a lot, in part because switching jobs from tech to a non-profit in music wasn't ideal financially. But 100 is a bad year

Getting closer to the mid 20s is terrifying but I’m excited to see how my life comes together. Still in love with my high school sweetheart, it’s been 3 years since we separated. I wonder if I’ll able to love anyone else at times. That’s scary to think of. I’m excited to see how this journey will play out.

glad you are still here -- and same here, i am amazed that i am still alive (and not just bc of growing up in the 1970s!)

i think i had a lot of unnecessarily complicated stuff thrown at me in my 20s -- which, knowing what i know now (information that i did not have back then), i could have handled things differently, and prevented a lot of crap -- and sure, other crap, and probably other stupid drama, too, would have happened -- but at least i could have figured stuff out on my own
