Roger Ebert co-wrote the screenplay. He went to college in the town I live in. He put on an annual film festival here. One year the grand finale was Beyond The Valley with Strawberry Alarm Clock playing before the movie. I wasn’t able to go unfortunately.

Dude, it was marine layer central just about the whole time I was in SoCal! Only saw the sun a couple times and only one sunny day out of the 12 I was there! The afternoons did clear up for a minute a couple of the last days I was there, too
