Last summer I tried out grilled peaches(makes them taste like pie filling), shishito peppers and grilled romaine. The romaine actually works, and if yr so inclined put a little bleu cheese inside the lettuce for a real treat when it comes off the fire

Very true. My troop went tent camping once a month all year round in Michigan. Even in January!

Here's another cooking on coals dish I got from boy scouts. Halve an orange or grapfruit, scoop out the puld and juice (eat it), then crack an egg in the half rind, then cook it on the coals to your prefered consistency.
