That reminds me, once I was stranded in a hotel somewhere near Beijing airport where the managers only spoke Mandarin. They communicated with us non-Mandarin speaking people by speaking into a translation app on their phones. The manager at the desk (a woman) asked me to speak into her phone. I asked "um, is it possible to get vegetarian food here?". That was translated from English to Mandarin by the app as "I love you. Is it possible to get vegetarian food with you."

I got the nastiest look I ever from that manager. These translation apps are truly dangerous.
