Favoriting January 15, 2023: A Musical Trip Around The World with Atlantic Tunnel
RIP, Jeff Beck. I tried to get through the whole show without saying his name or playing his music, and realized towards the end that I just couldn’t do it. This week we visit the MOR world of the late ‘60s with Dusty Springfield and Scott Walker; have a fun old time in the mid ‘70s with Cockney Rebel, Sparks and many others; a taster from the upcoming Zombies’ album, and have a quick listen to the 'West Coast vs East Coast' music of ‘65/’’66. Crazy was written by Peter O'Donnell. Peter has played his own music since his teenage years starting in folk clubs in Somerset. He then toured Europe with his pop/rock band Casino, and The Band Casino reformed in 2017 (after a gap of more than 30 years!) to release a new album called TBC .
He's played piano in clubs in the West End of London, and crooned like Sinatra on cruises and since 2008 has been the resident band at The Ritz in London.
Wherever he was in the world, his heart was always with the blues and BB King even signed his guitar when he met him in Memphis.
Recently he has been creating and producing his music from his home studio on the south coast of England and has released several new albums of his own music and blues covers.
