Hi Miss Mei, met a guy who wrote an article on Wayne for the school paper way back. I have access to all the newspaper archives so I'll see if i can find it for you.

One of these days I'll perform my own music on the show. But now is not one of those times.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:17pm
Jan Turkenburg:

Somebody left a plastic bag full of Indian CDs and cassettes in the mini library at the shopping centre today nearby... a lot of old bollywood and religious stuff. It's under investigation by yours truly now :-)

Oooh, good finds Jan!

Some background on the Tommy Hickman karaoke booth tape you are currently listening to: "Tommy was born brain damaged and with multiple medical problems. This is one of Tommy's favorite songs. He recorded this at a booth at Busch Garden's and they played it at his graduation. He was so confident in trying to sing this and since he doesn't read well, this is all from memory. Barry Manilow's music is a major reason why Tommy is a good as he is today."

Late to listen. Hi Miss Mei and all.

In the playlist PIC accompanying the Tommy Hickman recording, the gentleman in the grey jacket looks sorta like Barry Manilow. ???
Avatar 1:46pm
Miss Mei:

It is Barry Manilow.

Avatar 2:03pm
Miss Mei:

No worries! Have a good rest of your day Otis.
Avatar 2:04pm
Mr Fab:

that was like a Pere Ubu or Hawkwind song with one guy whose sole job was to make abstract synth noises. Pew pew! Blurrrblblb... Man, I want that job.
  2:06pm
MHLee:

Sounds a bit like Wild Man Fischer at his best
Avatar 2:17pm
Mr Fab:

Sulu could have gone down the Weird Al career path. She even had some advantages over Weird Al - nice clear singing voice, looked cute. Maybe she just didn't want to go show-biz.
Avatar 2:19pm
Miss Mei:

She is friends with and has collaborated with Al. She became a teacher and did jingles and had something called Sulugrams where she would write songs for people.
Avatar 2:20pm
Miss Mei:

Peter Yarrow of Peter Paul and Mary was her mentor if I recall correctly.
Avatar 2:29pm
Miss Mei:

My girlfriend calls Johnny Saliba "Dollar Store Phil Collins". Listen to his voice and tell me if you hear it.

There are just so pleasant oldies in the mix today
