Favoriting Cratedigger's Lung with Rich In Washington: Playlist from July 22, 2022 Favoriting

Rich in Washington's avatar View Rich in Washington's profile Favoriting

A three-hour exploration of excavations from the farthest reaches of humanity's hellish collective brain, through records, tapes, CDs, mostly scoured from country bumpkin thrift stores, creepy charity shops, backwoods junk stores, and even the internet - all mixed live. We don't judge, we just play 'em. Hosted by Rich in Washington.

KPFA here in Berkeley nearly got ousted from the building on MLK. They're hanging on by the skin of their teeth. No infomercials, to my knowledge, but there are regular new-agey shows. But see, that's what I like about KPFA and KPFK, their seat-of-the-pants efforts toward a real kind of diversity. The old Pan African shows were both informative and on occasion insulting. It was great! The opera show was inspired. The endless hours of jam bands. But no, they had to emulate NPR.
