In my old age, there's nothing better than a tiny venue with a small crowd. But nothing beats a festival for exposure to a wide range of new artists. Joe Cocker was one of those new ones to me.

Charged with killing the 36‐ year‐old saxophonist, whose band had backed Aretha Frank lin and had been heard at such places as the Fillmore West, was Juan Montanez, 26 years old, of 100 West 92d Street. The police said the fight began shortly before midnight, when the musician, who lived at 150 West 96th Street, saw Mr. Montanez sitting on the stoop of the building. Following a heated exchange there was a brief fistfight be tween Mr. Montanez and the musician, the police said.

First LP played on it : AJA. The decay on the the first cymbal crash on Black Cow went on forever. All I have left are The AVID 103's.

First LP played on it : AJA. The decay on the the first cymbal crash on Black Cow went on forever. All I have left are The AVID 103's.
