Greetings from Green Bay! Sad fact: I came to know "Taxman" from George Harrison's best-of comp in the mid-70s. I was late to the party on "Revolver," believe it or not.

Hey Larry, just been reading this book, here is an audible link to some spoken word samples. There are SO many Beatle books, this is an interesting take. Amazing how much they are still in our consciousness even today. They only recorded for less than eight years.

If McGuinn discarded the name "Byrds" after "Sweetheart of the Rodeo," and dubbed the band with a new name, the band would be hailed as exceptional. Dr. Byrds & Mr. Hyde, Ballad of Easy Rider, and Untitled all have transcendent moments. If you listen without tying them to anything previous, they'd be right up there in the same sentence as the Burrito Bros.
