evancuts:

I had the pleasure of spending an afternoon with her a few years back. Carole found out I lived in Montclair, she eagerly shared stories with me about her years living next door in West Orange (which were well documented in the song she wrote for the Monkees-- "Pleasant Valley Sunday"). Needless to say, the Montclair area was way, way less groovy back when she lived there. After her marriage ended and she left West Orange, Carole left one thing behind: her doorbell--which played the title to the song she wrote that helped pay for that house. "Will you still love me tomorrow" chimed whenever a visitor rang the bell. Apparently, the folks who now live in her old West Orange house still have that same doorbell. I keep meaning to pop by there and see for myself that it still works.
