In 3 hours we tendered our resignation, nearly burnt the studio to the ground, gave the station manager a haircut and raised 18,000 dollars!

The marathon has always been a very special time for me...like a championship fight or a long hard stretch drive. It's an athletic competition that makes me feel as though everything I have ever accomplished in life is on the line - there to be won or lost. The thrill of victory is there for the taking. Defeat awaits you if you fail to run a good race.

The final IBJ broadcast of Marathon 2000 will live in infamy. Mister Burns and myself wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the members of the IBJ who made this our finest moment. And like the many great moments that have come before, I ask myself
"How the fuck do we top this?"
I don't know. But I do know this...we will.
