>Live performance by The Timothy Hill Trio<

Tim performs in a style I'll call "musical comfort food"--warm and very pleasant jazz-pop. He performs with David Hikes' Harmonic Choir, but recently has struck out on his own path, incorporating vocal acrobatics when it fits the song. Mr. Hill was joined by bassist Doug Weiss and George Javori on drums and "newspaper sticks." All three appear on Timothy Hill's new cd, "This Bright World."

  • "The Road is Home"
  • "Why I Need the Mercy"
  • "I'll Come Through for You"
  • "The Well"
  • "The Ballad of the Sad Young Man"
  • "After a Snowfall"
  • "Were You There (When They Crucified My Lord)" (trad.?)
Tim frequently performs at The Living Room (@Stanton & Allen Streets in Manhattan). To receive a schedule, send a note to The Living Room.

To get a copy of "This Bright World," write to Timothy Hill, 417 Grand Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211.

>Live performance by The Cucumbers<

Husband/wife team Jon Fried & Deena Shoshkes are the core of the group, both singing, playing guitar and writing the songs. Filling out The Cucumbers are Kurt Wrobel (bass/vox) and Dave Ross (percussion/vox). This 'organic" pop band put their first single out ("My Boyfriend") in 1984.

  • "Neighbors"
  • "Illegal"
  • "Indivisible"
  • "Charlie"
  • "Till the Daylight Comes"
  • "What Do You Know About Nothin'?"
  • "Bad Attitude"
  • "My Boyfriend"
  • "Getting Lost Along the Way"
  • "Lucy"
  • "What We Are"
  • CD: "Five Problems"

The Cucumbers' newest album, tentatively titled "Total Vegetility" is due to be released in September on Home Office Records. To suggest an album title, or to contact The Cucumbers, send a note to: shoshkes@cris.com.
