Hi solo mon!
Hi WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:09pm Rich in Washington:

Gawd. Somewhere in my cassette pile I have an aircheck of Jello guesting on a KBOO show hosted by Poison Idea's Tom 'Pig Champion' Roberts. Jello brought some pretty cool records.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:10pm Rich in Washington:

didn't Simon Stokes recently die or something?
Avatar 2:10pm solo mon:

Rich!!! Happy happy new year
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:11pm Rich in Washington:

was it pretty sane in your neighborhood last night, solo?
Avatar 2:13pm solo mon:

I fell asleep before 11, there was some kind of ruckus that barely woke me. How bout you, rich?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Rich in Washington:

yeah, Stokes died last month. The 13th, in fact. He was 83.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:15pm Rich in Washington:

I don't think I made it until midnight. My last memory was hoisting the last of a bottle of red wine while watching a youtube video of a 1973 New Year's Dick Clark thing. Weird.
Avatar 2:15pm BC Sterrett:

Oh my gosh, I didn't know that Rich!
  2:21pm Martinibomb:

I fell asleep at 6pm woke up at 11:45 when fireworks started going off
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:23pm Rich in Washington:

Most of the fireworks people in my neighborhood shot off all their fireworks by 8pm, I think. If they shot off anything at midnight, I slept through it.
Avatar 2:29pm BC Sterrett:

I watched Star Trek with the wifey till midnight. lol
Avatar 2:31pm solo mon:

We’ve been marathon ing RuPaul drag race in prep for the new season that starts today
Avatar 2:37pm BC Sterrett:

I'm just now finally watching Next Gen again since the 80's.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:49pm Rich in Washington:

neato, MB! Linkage when you get it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Rich in Washington:

anybody ever see that batshit crazy youtube video of Jello singing a bunch of soul and R&B oldies? I think it was at a benefit for NOLA hurricane relief or something. He was surprisingly tuneful and respectful to the songs.
Avatar 2:51pm StringOFperils:

@BC Sterrett > I just switched radio stations TO this radio episode. So....ya just never know, ya know?

\\ // WR!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm Rich in Washington:

I just ate a large breakfast (at noon!) and it's sort of fighting with my hangover but I suspect I'll be right as rain shortly. I might listen to everything from a hot bath. That usually does the trick.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm WR:

Hi chresti.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Rich in Washington:

I remember the 70s trucker craze, CBs, Convoy, et al. My dad hated all of it. He was a truck driver in his early 20s, so thought the romancing of truckers and trucker lifestyle was dumb.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Rich in Washington:

but I love these songs. I practically have a section dedicated to trucker records in my country section.
Avatar 3:44pm BC Sterrett:

Hi Chresti!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm WR:

Hot bath & WFMU streams. Many glowing testimonials to the benefits!
Avatar 3:45pm BC Sterrett:

I have a guilty pleasure love for this music as well. I was really excited for this episode.
Avatar 3:45pm StringOFperils:

Take 18 wheels, 2 tylenol, and 1 bag epsom salts. Bring relaxation to boil and reduce attention to simmer. Soak for 1 hour. Serves one.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:45pm Rich in Washington:

This is indeed an awesome episode.
  3:45pm Martinibomb:

I watched that all of that Claude Atkin's series "Movin' On" - the first several episodes/story take place in Oregon/Seaside/Portland
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Rich in Washington:

This song is me today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:46pm Rich in Washington:

That's funny, Martinibomb! My dad DID like that show and we'd watch it together.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Rich in Washington:

I just unloaded my dishwasher and while putting away the shot-glass, wine glasses and cocktail gear I had a wave of nausea come over me.
  3:48pm Martinibomb:

@Rich I think you would enjoy rewatching the first couple of episodes for that old 70s Portland scenes really cool
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Rich in Washington:

I think I will. I assume they're on YT?
Avatar 3:49pm BC Sterrett:

This episode made me order a VHS of "Convoy" the movie. lol
Avatar 3:50pm BC Sterrett:

A friend gave me this Johnny Bond LP found at an antique shop saying, "This looked like something you'd be into..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm chresti:

Them epsom salts will activate your bowels enough to power up the Grapevine.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Rich in Washington:

My copy of this record is so absolutely hammered but I think it adds to its charm.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Rich in Washington:

my favorite trucker/CB record is CB Savage. It's pretty awful. I am pretty sure Darryl's played it on World's Worst Records Show.
Avatar 3:54pm BC Sterrett:

Same, mine has gray duct tape wrapped around the edges which just makes it stick to things.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Kat in Chicago:

I think Darryl has played CB Savage multiple times, Rich :)
Avatar 3:56pm StringOFperils:

Shoulda stuck with the little white pills and avoided the little blue pills.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Rich in Washington:

Kinda not hard to figure out why drunken party records are usually destroyed by the time we find 'em.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Otis:

That's a big 10-4 Rubber BC Ducky Sterrett! Keep on Truckin'!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm Rich in Washington:

Thanks, BC! Fun show!
Avatar 4:00pm BC Sterrett:
