  5:00pm Miss G:

I was mourning Ann Reinking this week, and she was in Bob Fosse's great film, "All That Jazz," and in re: Bogdanovich, Fosse did "Star 80" about Dorothy Stratton (whatever you might think of that.) So yeah. .. the great Ann Reinking.

Stardriver can't be right. I'm pretty sure it's Stardumper. Or is it Stardumpster?
Avatar 5:05pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...well the scrape aliens gotta put it somewhere...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:08pm Ken From Hyde Park:

I see the crescent moon and a pair of planets near it.
Avatar 5:10pm northguineahills:

I see the sun in my eyes....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:11pm chresti:

Jupiter and Saturn? We're supposed to see them real good on the 20-21st.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm Ike:

Ha ha @RevRab. Srsly tho, I definitely wonder what will happen if humanity starts tossing its garbage into the sun in 200 or 300 years. Even if we even make it that far, I guess we'll be doing pretty well, but could that ever cause more sunspots, or is the sun so huge that we can never incinerate enough garbage in its conona to make the slightest difference? Will the sun get pissed off?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:12pm chresti:

Avatar 5:12pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

The Great Conjunction itself. If you use binoculars you won't regret it.
Avatar 5:14pm Honeybear:

Did I mention that leftovers go down especially well with Fabio's program during pandemic season?
Avatar 5:16pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

Either way the Sun expands into a Red Giant & vaporizes the entire Earth in a few billion years. It be not only huge but a mass of nuclear reaction plasma of millions of degrees & magnetic craziness. A single flair is far larger than our pale blue dot.

This Song is to Cool !
Avatar 5:18pm Honeybear:

Year 1971 apparently - ahead of its time
Avatar 5:18pm TDK60:

Just went for a short dusk walk. Jupiter and Saturn are positioned such that it easily looks 3 dimensional.
  5:18pm Earthwalker:

63. Like Saturn

Christi. That’s so cool been tuning in to Earth Sky for a while now
Saw a total of around 60 shooting stars recently
Avatar 5:23pm northguineahills:

So, like in mythology, Saturn devours Jupiter, but this time just chills on the moon?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Just had a State trooper pull over a motorist in the parking lot I'm in right next to me. Being a spectacled dorky white guy, I didn't panic. (trying to get work done)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:28pm chresti:

Earthwalker, I have trouble seeing shooting stars because there's too much light here. There's been a shower of them recently.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Ooh I'm not familiar with this Fall album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:30pm McGroovey:

The main riff of this Fall song sounds like the main riff from (The) Pink Floyd's "Lucy Leave" slightly twisted.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm Threemoons:

The Fall!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:31pm coelacanth∅:

McGroovey Yes!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:32pm coelacanth∅:

I once talked to Tony Herrington, editor of Wire magazine, about MES. He said that whenever he interviewed him, which was often, some item of his electrical equipment would always, always pack up: recorder, watch, whatever. It didn’t surprise me.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:39pm dale:

david - are you saying mark e smith was a clepto?
  5:40pm ?:

Hats off to you RRNov63, you seem to know Astronomy! Do you have a telescope/observatory?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:41pm dale:

i'd like a 10 inch dobsonian. but no where to put such a beast.
  5:41pm David in London:

Dale, sorry if that didn’t translate. ‘Pack up’ means malfunction.

Avatar 5:45pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

MES claimed to be a bit psychic.
?: I wish. My binoculars aren't even aligned... wonder if that can be fixed. Seeing Jupiter & Saturn together here calls for it! You can see moons of Jupiter with even binoculars...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:47pm dale:

lovely crescent moon out right now.
Avatar 5:47pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

MES was an X-Men stealth operative.
  5:48pm ?:

RR, you mean you can't see something through both eyepieces at the same time? Usually you can adjust the difference between the eyes, on the binoculars that is!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:49pm chresti:

A lucky balcony in Nice sounds divine.
  5:49pm Miss G:

"Natural Snow Buildings!" *sigh* I will investigate!
Avatar 5:51pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

dale that's Saturn & Jupiter to Her right - & orange Mars over left higher towards the east :
? : the two eyepieces don't align in up & down terms I'm afraid...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm dale:

youtube must have the answer to how to align binoculars.
Avatar 5:53pm Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

that's a thot !
  5:53pm Miss G:

(chresti, I too was drooling over a balcony in Nice. When we had a balcony here in the South, we were out on it all the time. I could have gone out today, not to gloat to those in the NE.)
Avatar 5:53pm TDK60:

Miss G. I dig the NSnowB combo. Fabio helped them expose their smash hits.
  5:54pm ?:

dale, you are right the crescent moon is lovely, too bad the storm came through yesterday and blotted out an even closer encounter with Jupiter and Saturn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm dale:
