Hi Spacebrother, regular Sheena listener, first time Spacebrother listener!
Avatar 11:04am spacebrother:

Hi Constance! Thanks for being here. Hope you enjoy the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:05am Jan Turkenburg:

yep, I'm here, your regular show is just too late for this old european man. This is however perfect :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Constancy!
Avatar 11:08am Constance De Witt:

Good day, Jan, how do you do? :)
Avatar 11:08am spacebrother:

Avatar 11:13am Mr Fab:

Aloooooha, SpaceTikiBrother, so glad you were able to enter the Forbidden Tabu Playlist of Aloha Friday and do this lovely show.
Avatar 11:13am spacebrother:

Whoops, been misspelling Sol Hoopi's name!
Avatar 11:13am spacebrother:

@ El Fabbo - Yeah, I disappeared off the list for some reason. Ken restored it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Jan Turkenburg:

Hi Mr Fab, Hi Feldpausch!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:22am notsoKWYET:

Alo-hey
Avatar 11:23am spacebrother:

It's NSK! Hello!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Jan Turkenburg:

NSK!
Avatar 11:30am Constance De Witt:

Hey notso. What, that's quite a pun and alliteration... Lova and leava on the lava.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Hopey Sockmonkey:

Aloha, Spacebrother and Tiki-lovers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am notsoKWYET:

I have Greg, of Solo and Greg, to thank for it ... he said it on Solo'a Aloha
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Hopey Sockmonkey:

I did not know there were lyrics to the Hawaii 5-0 theme.
Avatar 11:43am Mr Fab:

All rise for the national anthem!
Avatar 11:44am spacebrother:

Hey Hopey! - Yeah sounds like Sammy and Don had a little different ideas about what they were.
Avatar 11:44am spacebrother:

@ Fab - Yeah, this one is kind of required!
Avatar 11:50am Mr Fab:

I remember wondering: why is it called "Hawaiian War Chant"? It's not a chant, and doesn't sound very war-like. Quite jolly, really. Turns out that it actually has an original hawaiian name that is nothing like 'Hawaiian War Chant.' Some goofy haole came up with that name. At least "Hawaiian" is correct, so it's one-third accurate.
Avatar 11:52am spacebrother:

@ Fab - Yeah, I think I read that somewhere. Would never fly today!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:57am Jan Turkenburg:

I like all the sounds over 64 you're playing, Greg!
Avatar 12:00pm spacebrother:

Thank you, Jan! One of my favorite times in music, especially for Hawaiian stuff.
Avatar 12:00pm spacebrother:

"periods"
  12:10pm mzzz:

oh i thought japanese peanuts, are they german?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:10pm Phillippe Bastille:

Howdy
  12:10pm mzzz:

oh well
Avatar 12:13pm spacebrother:

@ Mzzz - The album was recorded by a Japanese group for a German audience. Sung in phonetic German. Magic.
Avatar 12:13pm spacebrother:

Hey Phillippe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:25pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

Aloo00OOOooOO000oOOOOOha!
Avatar 12:25pm Mr Fab:

Ha, 'The Polynesians' are as likely a band name as 'The Hawaiians.' Oh, those budget labels! Cool tunes, tho.
Avatar 12:26pm spacebrother:

Hey Granny!
Avatar 12:27pm Mr Fab:

yaaaaay, I love Annette and I don't care who knows it.
Avatar 12:28pm Constance De Witt:

Hello, Granny! Hey Fab, I *adore* Annette too, for some reason. She's just adorable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:28pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

silly haoles! my sweeties favorite joke from the classic Frank De Lima book is, "Why did da haole cross the road? To get to da middle." [full disclosure: i am 100% haole!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:29pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

*da
Avatar 12:29pm spacebrother:

@ Mr. Fab - I don't know about the Polynesians," but they handled "Lullaby of Birdland" like pros!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:30pm Phillippe Bastille:

Hey Granny!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:31pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Mmmm, buffet. . . .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:38pm Jan Turkenburg:

Yes, I'm still here, just notsoLOUD ;-)
Avatar 12:39pm Mr Fab:

Steel drums go punk. Love this album. I think I just added a bunch of other steel drum-go-rock tracks of Tracy Thornton to the Sheena streem, like Jane's Addiction covers n stuff.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:39pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

sitar = clicky star!
Avatar 12:45pm Mr Fab:

Did you record this yourself, Greg?
Avatar 12:46pm spacebrother:

@ Fab - No, Dammit! Sorry I missed that show.
Avatar 12:47pm Feldpausch:

Ghesundheit!
Avatar 12:50pm spacebrother:

No sneeze button!
Avatar 12:52pm Feldpausch:

Whoa! Ich habe diese nicht gehört
Avatar 12:52pm spacebrother:

Here's a oldy. Sort of a hit.
Avatar 12:54pm Mr Fab:

Classic! Don Bolles and Noah play this on their "Wired Up" show. Mrs Fab sings along.
Avatar 12:54pm Constance De Witt:

Constance approves of holding beach baby's hand. But no more than that.
Avatar 12:55pm Mr Fab:

Buncha pasty-faced Brits doing a fine fake-SoCal sound here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:55pm Phillippe Bastille:

This brings back some great memories...
Avatar 1:05pm spacebrother:

Deconstructed Calypso.
Avatar 1:08pm Mr Fab:

took me ages to realize that in Zombie Jamboree they're singing "They done dead already." i always thought it was "They done that already." and i'd wonder: they did what? What did the zombies do? Had to learn to speak Carib.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:13pm Jan Turkenburg:

This is lovely!
Avatar 1:14pm spacebrother:

@ Jan - i need to find more by this artist!
Avatar 1:14pm Mr Fab:

  1:23pm captain mike:

Hello y’all These gals are absolutely absorbingly adorabubble ain’t they?
Avatar 1:27pm Mr Fab:

"Pineapple Princess" is an Annette cover, speaking of Ms Funicello. Or, as Mad Magazine called her, A Net Full Of Jello.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:32pm zivilars:

Hello everybody, hope you're all well
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:33pm zivilars:

This "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" version was great, love the song
Avatar 1:34pm spacebrother:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:49pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Ahhh, if I recall correctly this was the singing flowers part.
Avatar 1:50pm spacebrother:

@ Jan - Yes, and then the tiki heads joined in.
Avatar 1:50pm spacebrother:

Sorry @ HOPEY
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:53pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I think I was a bit frightened by that part when I was around 9 years old, haha
  1:54pm Martinibomb:

I need some Enchanted Tiki Room time stat
Avatar 1:54pm Mr Fab:

Miraculously, the Enchanted Tiki Room has survived all of Disneyland's attempts to "upgrade." Unlike, say, Monsanto's Journey Thru Inner Space ride, from whence came that Miracles from Molecules song.
  1:54pm Martinibomb:

just hook this record up and pump it into my veins
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:55pm zivilars:

this was epic
  1:55pm Martinibomb:

yeh i'm surprised as heck the tiki room is still around
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:56pm Hopey Sockmonkey:
