Lawn Chairs 12” mix has a better kick. Great show.
  10:18pm
Jason of Mt Shasta:

don't get me wrong, Duran is great, but Japan is so epic... this band was incredibly prog in their own way
  10:19pm
Jason of Mt Shasta:

rhythm section is just amazing. Mick Karn...
  10:19pm
paparay:

I know the 12" version of Lawn Chairs. Have it as well. This one truly captures the era in my opinion.
  10:19pm
slugluv1313:

for awhile, WPIX-FM in NYC had an "underground" format (1979 to . . . 1981?) . . . and of course WHBI (105.9, in Newark) had amazing Reggae, but also Scratchy on some late nights :)
  10:20pm
Jason of Mt Shasta:

I've never heard this extended version. thank you
Avatar 10:21pm
Frank77:

WPIX was great, I’m in Newark but I don’t remember WHBI
  10:22pm
paparay:

@Jason of Mt. Shasta: No doubt. Japan was VERY UNDERRATED. Some amazing singles. I played Sometimes I Feel So Low several shows ago. Glad you're enjoying. I came into a slew of their 12" singles in near mint condition and cheap. You'll definitely hear more Japan.

  10:24pm

fantastic. Yeah, i went through a bit of a japan obsession years ago. There's really no one like them. David Sylvian solo is really great IMO too, though different. for me, with Japan, it's all those crazy rhythms.

That was an intelivision game but I forget which game
  10:26pm
paparay:

@Jason of Mt. Shasta: Yes! Mick Karn let that bass speak. Sylvian was quite a frontman. Heard the solo work he did w/ Robert Fripp. Interesting and different.
  10:27pm
Jason of Mt Shasta:

that Oil on Canvas live film is incredible. I dunno what Karn was on, or if he was just on the natch, but he's literally levitating across the stage haha
  10:27pm
paparay:

@ Frank 77: Read somewhere that Pet Shop Boys liked the song and pre-internet I went on a search to find it. Found a CD single for 99 cents. Loved it!!!

@Jason of Mt. Shasta: I will have to view that. I also heard the story of their relationship.
Avatar 10:29pm

New York viewers, TV PIXXX was their first glimpse of the Intellivision home game system. In the Beastie Boys Book, Michael Diamond claimed to be a regular viewer of the program, but was never picked to play the game, nor saw anyone actually win.
