Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:01pm listener james from westwood:

Evening, Kim and everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm KimSorise:

Hey hey! Welcome Hams and James.
Enjoy
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm WR:

Hi folks. It's Monday and glad to be listening,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:04pm KimSorise:

Welcome WR!
We have some flurries outside this evening...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm WR:

Most of today in NY has been cold windy and raining. Good day to not go outside.

Have not heard this Brown / Hampel before. Very lovely.
Avatar 7:19pm TDK60:

Hi Kim, et allz.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:21pm KimSorise:

Hello TDK60! Good evening
Avatar 7:31pm TDK60:

Hi WR, yes I'm in NYC; blustery rain day. .
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm WR:

I think Shooting at the Moon is overall my favorite Kevin Ayers album. Coxhill and Bedford add a dimension not on Ayers' other albums. Was just reading yesterday that the drummer Mick Finch disappeared from UK music circles after leaving the Ayers band. Hope it was for good reasons.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm KimSorise:

That, WR and Joy of a Toy is amazing too
Avatar 7:40pm TDK60:

Kim, how's Louisville? Followed it much this year, you know. / Good to hear this "Women" song again, and again...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:42pm WR:

Buckley, another distinctive lovely voice.
Avatar 7:42pm TDK60:

Can only agree, WR. Special.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm KimSorise:

Thanks for asking, TDK60. People are exhausted and protesting - i think it will be 200 days next week. Another young protester was killed last weekend; that was hard for folks.
More Covid restrictions for the next 2 weeks. It's an American city... in the South
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm chresti:

H i Kim and global greasers!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm KimSorise:

Hey Chresti!
Happy Late November
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:56pm doctorjazz:

Sandy Denny, nice! Hi, Greasers!
Avatar 7:57pm TDK60:

Thanks Kim. Didn't know about the death. Solidarity to the Breonna T./etc. movement. I heard about 25 protesters were killed this year. / Interesting Sandy D. "Late November"! I was listening to Irene Trudel today; who played some UK folk-rock. I said I also often play it this time of year too, Halloween to Yuletide.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm KimSorise:

Hey Gina! Happy Monday
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:09pm WR:

My mistake to not dig Azteca in the 70s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm WR:

Love that, from the porch to our ears.
Avatar 8:17pm TDK60:

WR, never heard Azteca then! Am reading a book on the San Fran. '60s music scene from a political-radical angle, The Explosion of Dreams Deferred by Mat Callahan. There's a few Azteca concert posters in the illustration section.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm doctorjazz:

Never heard them until now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:19pm KimSorise:

I think we are all missing out not being Azteca fans until now - LP is from 1973
Avatar 8:20pm TDK60:

The two concerts were benefits, one for the United Farm Workers union.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:21pm WR:

I worked in record store at that time and saw the record. Didn't pay attention to it. The Escovedo brothers put together an amazing band, many of whom soon became famous in other bands. Did not realize that until today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22pm KimSorise:

The song was by Coke Escovedo
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm WR:

TDK60, book marking that book for my library requests.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:23pm Mx. Granny (e/em):

hello, Kim and folxes!!!
Avatar 8:25pm TDK60:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm Gina Bacon:

I love this.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:32pm chresti:

Grannykins!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:35pm KimSorise:

Thanks, Gina. I am a fan of Lon Moshe and Plunky Nkibinde - Juju took on many variations over the years
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:38pm WR:

Seeing that they also released a Oneness of Juju 2 CD or 3 LP reissue in July. book marking that for next bandcamp day.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm KimSorise:

The Black Fire comp is a nice intro into Richmond, VA spiritual jazz
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:43pm doctorjazz:

The bass player is crazy!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:44pm Jeff Golick:

Love this Herd!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm WR:

Weirdly, the bass player isn't listed in the discogs credits for that track.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47pm KimSorise:

Let Me check the liner notes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:48pm Gina Bacon:

Thanks, Kim!
