Only now they get phone calls saying, "Now that you've been promoted, you can serve on this committee... be a journal editor... become department chair...," i.e., new work added to your previous duties. Anyway, congratulations on your success!

Possible patterns in the Classical period include: ABA, ABACA, or ABACABA. These are sometimes designated "first rondo", "second rondo", and "third rondo", respectively. Only now they get phone calls saying, "Now that you've been promoted, you can serve on this committee... be a journal editor... become department chair...," i.e., new work added to your previous duties.
