Artist Track Album Comments Images Approx. start time
Buck Warren  Track 1 pt. 2 (on Side 2)   Options To O’Hare International  Continued from last week. “… an entire spoken-word album about how much he loves O’Hare Airport in Chicago!” - Biafra
0:00:00 (Pop-up)
Zing  Planned Barrenhood   Options Zingalamaduni  From the liner notes mentioned by Biafra: “How you live or die in the year 2020 is being decided right now… In the year 2020 social security recipients and unproductive people will be considered as unnecessary burden to those who remain productive. What will society do with unproductive people? Who will you be in 2020? Will your life end naturally, or will someone else choose?” Really creepy. This is the best song on the record in my opinion” - Your DJ
0:06:29 (Pop-up)
Louis Farrakhan  Let Us Unite   Options “Let Us Unite”  “And here’s a Louis Farrakhan (misspelled as Farakhan in the book) disco single! I shows him posing in front of a fake sunset remarkably like the fake sunsets found on Heino album covers. He croons in Barry White-style, “Let Us Unite” with the same “unity or else” mentality of early Agnostic Front skinhead lyrics…” - Biafra
0:12:01 (Pop-up)
Heino  Niedersachsenlied   Options Uns Geht Die Sonne Nicht Unter : Heimat- Und Vaterlandslieder  This is one of the Heino covers I believe Biafra is referring to. I find Heino more interesting as an icon and phenomenon rather than his music. Highlight on Heino coming soon! Saving the best track from this LP for that show, when this record is brought up again :) - Your DJ)
0:15:37 (Pop-up)
Joan Baez  Annie Had a Baby   Options In San Francisco  …”her debut album on Fantasy (not Vanguard) had her attempting acoustic version of R&B songs like “Annie Had a Baby,” “Labamba,” and even “Young Blood” where she tried to do the different voices of the original Coasters’ version…” - Biafra
0:19:01 (Pop-up)

0:34:20 (Pop-up)
The Billy Thompson Show  I Can See Clearly   Options The King’s Loft Presents The Billy Thompson Show  These are a couple of the more interesting tracks on this private press LP, most of which is bland country. - Your DJ
0:36:58 (Pop-up)
The Billy Thompson Show  Auctioneer   Options The King’s Loft Presents The Billy Thompson Show
0:39:07 (Pop-up)
King James Version  What’s A Bossa Nove (sic)   Options King James Version  The cover is far more interesting than the music on this private presser. Cover featured on bottom of page 30. -Your DJ
0:41:46 (Pop-up)
King James Version  Slippin Into Darkness   Options King James Version  Playing a few tracks from the LP so you get a better idea of what’s on it. These first 3 numbers are the better section of the record in my opinion. - Your DJ

Avatar 2:42pm Arbdul "Ben" Camel:

The Herzog film about the auctioneer competition is trance-inducing
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:46pm Mr Fab:

I was lucky to attend a real rural auction in Colorado with one of those guys. Years ago, wonder if there any still doing it like that?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:47pm Mr Fab:

Ha, a War cover!

Yes, the Elvis suit, the go-go boots, those other guys who look they’re in coffins...cover gold.
Avatar 2:48pm Arbdul "Ben" Camel:

When I lived in North Carolina I went to buy a few chickens at one of those places but I was too intimidated to bid and then carelessly swing a pile of chickens around by their feet, so I flew the coop.
Avatar 2:48pm BC Sterrett:

Stephen you're on after this band!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:48pm Otis Fodder:

Tuned in and sounding great. Hi BC. Hi Brute. Just wanted to drop a quick note to say ears are on!

Nice new recording of this classic track!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:10pm Otis Fodder:

Sheena's Weird Mistake Room is why I listen. Unplanned mischief is most welcome.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:16pm Otis Fodder:

Was a fine time in Montreal when Brute Force serenaded us at Pop Montreal in an intimate setting/show playing the hits and the eyebrows 5 or 6 years back + a showing of the mini-brute-doc... good times!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:17pm Webhamster Henry:

Paging Stashu!

Avatar 3:35pm BC Sterrett:

Songs inspired by Fred Lane from my old band "The Nourishment" - "Gasoline Your Arm" and "Character Beard"...
  3:36pm Jay L.:

So happy that Ice Pick to the Moon finally came out! (And that "Hey, Get Outta my Gal" is a real song!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Mr Fab:

This Fred Lane lp is an all-time keeper. I like his others, but keep going back to this 1.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:37pm Franco Twinkie:

This is great!
Avatar 3:39pm BC Sterrett:

Love this record so much I have 2! Love the Brute Force album so much, I have 3!!!
  3:41pm Jay L.:

I had an epiphany reading William Gresham's carny-noir novel Nightmare Alley and realized that Car Radio Jerome was based on it. Fred Lane's monologue is straight out of the book.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:42pm solo mon:

Hey u hey listening while cleaning but had to check in and do a clicky star frenzy for fred and brute force
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm Franco Twinkie:

This is making it very hard to leave the house.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:50pm Feldpausch:

You know what goes with French Toast 4 glasses of milk
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm Feldpausch:

I love how everybody is doing a solo at the same time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Franco Twinkie:

I love French toast so much I would actually consider eating it out of the trash.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm Feldpausch:

Franco HAAAAA! :)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:54pm solo mon:

I think there is also 4 glasses of milk IN french toast.
Avatar 3:54pm BC Sterrett:

Abdul Ben Camel your solo!!!
Avatar 3:55pm BC Sterrett:

Are you still in here???
Avatar 3:56pm BC Sterrett:

Avatar 3:56pm BC Sterrett:

Maybe he left...
Avatar 3:57pm Arbdul "Ben" Camel:

Oh I'm here, I was out of breath from solo-ing so intensely
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm zivilars:

That was a great show as always, BC – thanks a lot, perfect companion to listen to while working! (therefore not writing much today)
Avatar 3:58pm Arbdul "Ben" Camel:

I also did the clipping tone-nails bit in Man With The Foldback Ears
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:58pm Franco Twinkie:

Solo, when making French toast I use buttermilk straight from the vas deferens. Nobody has ever complained, so I guess I'm doing something right.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:59pm Mr Fab:

That’s fascinating Jay L, didn’t know that.
Avatar 4:01pm BC Sterrett:

That's amazing that you were here Arbdul... Is this Arb? ha ha
  4:01pm Jay L.:

Check it out, Mr. Fab. It's a great story on its own, but the Lane connection seals the fun right in.
Avatar 4:01pm BC Sterrett:

Thanks everyone!!!
Avatar 4:01pm Arbdul "Ben" Camel:

Thanks BC!
Avatar 4:03pm ARB:

Being a professional musical toenail clipper, the jobs are few and far between.
