Holy shit! Somehow when I opened the pop up for Scott's show a separate pop of of Ken's patriotic set opened too and they were playing at the same time. I thought Scott was totally on a Scott'n'screwed set. It sounded good too.

Avatar 3:27pm Jeezuseffinchrist:

you guys. the house I moved into about a month ago has an empty lot next to it, and lots of stray kitties roaming through, which I have started to feed and water because I'm a sucker. well. there's one little guy who's got a bit, angry, raw wound on his shoulders, it's awful to see. I'm trying to get help from a volunteer group that works with strays to see if we can catch him and get him help. poor little thing, I'm worried for him, so keep him in your thoughts if you can
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:28pm Jim the Poet:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm Scott Williams:

@Jeezuseffinchrist where are you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:34pm tim from champaign (now washington):

Oh wow, Mingering Mike! I love his album covers. I didn't realize there were any actual records of his.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:35pm The Oscar:

I was about to say the same thing-- I never knew Mingering Mike actually recorded!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm tim from champaign (now washington):

@The Oscar - I'm wondering if it was a tape Mike made from way back when that got pressed to vinyl around the time his art was introduced to the world,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:36pm Baja Joe:

Scott!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm BLCKDGRD:

My avatar is a feral born under our back shed, completely domesticated now, at thirteen more indoor than outdoor. Thanks for looking out for the kitties.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:38pm efd:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:39pm spodiodi:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:40pm McGroovey:

@Jeezuseffinchrist
If you're in Hudson County, NJ, I can put you in touch with cat rescue people.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:41pm efd:

@Jeezuseffinchrist That's a tough situation, thank you for trying your best to help out those cats, and particularly the little injured guy.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm McGroovey:

I guess I should toss the money I would have spent on the record into the jar.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:43pm Handy Haversack:

Our neighborhood still has massive numbers of feral cats, though it's down from what it was ten, fifteen years ago. I once was up on the roof at night and counted forty visible cats. There was a neuter-and-release program, and I saw my first rat here about six years back. Still lots of cats, though. There are three primary ones that use the back lots of our part of the block as highway and hunting grounds. They don't seem to have made much dent in the sparrow or squirrel population, though! Joined today by a downy woodpecker and a tufted titmouse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm iiibeat:

Redgate #9!! Woo-hoo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:44pm Handy Haversack:

Yay, Bas and Stanley! Hoots!

Avatar 3:48pm Hubig Pie:

Bill Wyman's 84th birthday comin' up, I know cuz Mary Wing. She played this 2day too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:48pm Handy Haversack:

There was a possum blundering about back here the other night.

Mary Wing has this same single! Nice to hear it again today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:51pm brainiac:

I had this Billy Preston 45 which I liked to play at 33rpm for a dramatic open on my cassettes.

what tv show theme is this reminding me of..
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm efd:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm brainiac:

Sound like it could have been the opening theme to The Rockford Files
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:52pm efd:

@mattgary kind of a cross between Rockford Files and Ironside?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:53pm Fuzzy:

Very Rockford.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:56pm spodiodi:

only one cat dares enter the de-facto deer habitat that is our new back yard. she's here to watch the birds and squirrels. they, and the deer are here to eat acorns-a-plenty day and night. there were 6 deer yesterday morning. 2 bebes, 2 bucks, a giant doe (we had a staring contest), and a smaller doe. they seem to be letting us stay right in the middle of their acorn feast. dogs accompany humans back and forth on the street out front, all day and evening long.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm spodiodi:

yeah, Tim \m/
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:57pm Handy Haversack:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:14pm Handy Haversack:

I know, Butterman, I was on the WAB board too. Horrible.

Paddling on the Wallkill a couple of weeks ago out of New Paltz, we must have seen four dead deer in or by the river. I assume all were hit by cars and knocked into the river by the impact.

coela, sometimes, depends on fermentation conditions, but it's never totally dead, as I recall. And sometimes you can use it for the next batch. I don't know anything about kombucha (I think I've had one sip?), but I think that eventually alcohol will kill yeast, which is why fermentation stops. But you can control for how much alcohol you make in primary fermentation and preserve the yeast for another round sometimes. As I recall. We, uh, did a lot of supply sampling as we experimented!

Kate and I have a running joke that no Styx song sounds like any other Styx song. We don't really know all that many Styx songs and have no albums, but every time we're like "*THIS* is the same band?!"
