Avatar 6:39pm Mr Fab:

Hi ghouls n boys! FINALLY get to listen to some Sheena today. For a little bit.

Li’l Fab has a black cat. She designed a collar for it with name and address on one side and “does not mean bad luck” on the other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:39pm Dave in Vermont:

tuned in
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:41pm Rich in Washington:

Aw, that's adorable, Fab.
Avatar 6:41pm Martinibomb:

hey Fab! Herro dave in vermont!
Avatar 6:43pm Fanggg-Rila:

Yay, Fab, Lil Fab, Martinibomb, I got Daaaaave. Wow!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:43pm Rich in Washington:

ooo! Groovy Experiment In Terror!
Avatar 7:01pm Martinibomb:

why did they make the best halloween songs before I was born?!
Avatar 7:02pm Fanggg-Rila:

ha, right. i wish i was around for the hey day of all the novelty 45's.
Avatar 7:03pm Mr Fab:

When I was an adolescent first starting to suspect that there was a lot more out there then the usual “oldies,” “The ventures in Space” was a big album for me. That one and Yma Sumac’s “Voice of the Xtabay” were genius albums that sucked me into the world of mid-century oddities.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:03pm Rich in Washington:

That'll teach him!
Avatar 7:03pm Fanggg-Rila:

Ray Stevens seems like a classic glasslighter.
Avatar 7:04pm Fanggg-Rila:

We've got The Ventures in Space LP over here on standby. Thanks to my father-in-law!
Avatar 7:05pm Martinibomb:

whyyy does nobody record anything even remotely like this now days tho?? You'd think there would be at least a few cool new halloween tracks every so often.. but nothing on these lines
Avatar 7:06pm Fanggg-Rila:

i think some surf groups embrace that sense of humor. otherwise, i dunno!
Avatar 7:06pm Martinibomb:

first record I ever bought was a collection called "The monster mash" with purple people eater all that stuff on it!
Avatar 7:06pm Fanggg-Rila:

still not totally the same though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07pm Rich in Washington:

I think my first ever records bought just for me were halloween records as well, one of which that had a really inferior re-do of Monster Mash.
Avatar 7:09pm Fanggg-Rila:

Was it the one Bobby Boris Pickett re-recorded?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Rich in Washington:

You know, I just now looked the record up on Discogs, and it does indeed say it was by Bobby Pickett, so you are probably correct.
Funny that my seven year old ears noticed that it wasn't the version I was accustomed to.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:10pm Rich in Washington:

It's this one: www.discogs.com...
Avatar 7:11pm Martinibomb:

I was about 6 or 7 too! Lol got my copy at Bi-Mart heheh
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:12pm Rich in Washington:

I may have this record in my kid record section. I think I found it and bought it again a couple of years ago.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:13pm Rich in Washington:

I am guessing my mom bought mine at either Toy Chest or a drug store. I am pretty sure it was a birthday gift. Almost all my xmas and birthday gifts around that age were monster or horror related.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14pm Rich in Washington:

My mom made me a really nice red and black Dracula cape but I was forbidden from wearing it out unless it was halloween. Stupid rules.
Avatar 7:15pm Fanggg-Rila:

she wouldn't let you wear it to church you mean?
Avatar 7:15pm Fanggg-Rila:

sacre bleu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15pm Rich in Washington:

No. Not once.
Avatar 7:16pm solo mon:

HelloooOOOooo takin a little break from work to check the mellow drama!
Avatar 7:17pm Fanggg-Rila:

the drama is mellow now that my cat has resumed his napping!
Avatar 7:18pm solo mon:

Yes i hear ya. There was much wrestling earlier. Now everyone is asleep!
Avatar 7:19pm solo mon:

This is a massive track. So good. Sampled by uh uh I can’t remember!
Avatar 7:20pm solo mon:

Avatar 7:20pm Fanggg-Rila:

lol. i really don't know!! but it has rosemary baby vibes.
Avatar 7:23pm solo mon:

Totally rosemarys baby !
Avatar 7:24pm solo mon:

Ok I remember - it’s “Nikita” by Ralph Meyerz and the jack herren band.
Avatar 7:24pm Mr Fab:

I probly mentioned it before, but I used to see Korla Pandit live. Even spoke to him. We all thought he really was Indian.
Avatar 7:24pm Fanggg-Rila:

ah, cool. gotta check that out!
Avatar 7:25pm Fanggg-Rila:

loll. i mean, fair enough, Mr. Fab. And, I didn't know that you had seen him. did you watch the documentary?
Avatar 7:26pm Fanggg-Rila:

i just finally watched the Ed Wood film by Tim Burton. i really enjoyed Korla's appearance.
Avatar 7:26pm Mr Fab:

No, but heard all about the doc. I actually knew ppl who were friends/roommates so heard the inside story. We were pretty shocked.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:27pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Sometimes I feel that Ed Wood is Burton's best film. It's so damn wonderful.
Avatar 7:27pm Mr Fab:

Ooooh how I love “Ed Wood.” I can (but won’t) quote large chunks of it.
Avatar 7:27pm solo mon:

I think Ed Wood is definitely Tim Burton’s best film.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Oh, please DO, Mr. Fab!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28pm Rich in Washington:

The documentary is great. I highly recommend it. I'm not sure how it's available now. I think as a rental on Vimeo? I think that's how I saw it.
Avatar 7:28pm solo mon:

LOL at the skeleton:-)
Avatar 7:30pm Fanggg-Rila:

I had to email a guy. I still have his email. If anyone is curious, I can provide in the chat.
Avatar 7:30pm Fanggg-Rila:

I'm trying to up my sound effect/sample game, solo mon!
Avatar 7:39pm Mr Fab:

THE Carol Burnett?
Avatar 7:39pm Fanggg-Rila:

is that a comedian with a variety show?
Avatar 7:40pm Fanggg-Rila:

i feel like she would come on after sonny & cher when i was watching TV Land?
Avatar 7:40pm solo mon:

I like the sound effect! Funny! And holiday themed :-)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:40pm Rich in Washington:

OH YEAH!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:41pm Rich in Washington:

Avatar 7:42pm Fanggg-Rila:

Avatar 7:43pm Martinibomb:

Avatar 7:43pm solo mon:

Loooove this song
Avatar 7:44pm Mr Fab:

Hi ARB! Yes, was that the tv comedienne singing “haunted Lover”
Avatar 7:44pm solo mon:

There’s a shocking blue song called demon lover that is very very similar to this but a dif song...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm ARB:

No, one is Burnett one is Bennett. Carol Burnett is Miss Hannigan, she sings Little Girls
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:45pm ARB:

Hi! just coming in to be a know it all for a sec, hi!
Avatar 7:46pm Mr Fab:

Oh “Bennett”! Duh.
Avatar 7:46pm solo mon:

Don’t mess w ARB about Carol Burnett
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:46pm ARB:

Little Girls would be a great Halloween track
Avatar 7:46pm solo mon:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm ARB:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Avatar 7:47pm Fanggg-Rila:

Avatar 7:47pm solo mon:

Yeah Mrs Hannigan is iconic.
Avatar 7:47pm Fanggg-Rila:

Aiiight, it's all in context now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:47pm ARB:

Umm, it's Miss Hannigan, she is unwed for sure
Avatar 7:48pm Fanggg-Rila:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:48pm ARB:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

I remember watching Daktari with my parents, but cannot recall much about the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:50pm ARB:

Ross is a really close name to Rooster. We are very similar.
Avatar 7:51pm Fanggg-Rila:

~*the most perfect transition right there*~
Avatar 7:51pm solo mon:

Im saying
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:51pm ARB:

The star of Daktari is the mascot of Cannibal Stew
Avatar 7:52pm solo mon:

I’m daddy warbucks, except no war and no bucks.
Avatar 7:52pm Fanggg-Rila:

solo mon, sounds like maybe you are the starbucks?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53pm ARB:

You are daddy arbucks
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm ARB:

Speak of the devil! (Tim Curry)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:54pm Rich in Washington:

I was just telling the missus that we're due to watch this again soon.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:55pm ARB:

Is the sequel any good? I've heard Granny mention it a few times but haven't seen it.
Avatar 7:55pm Feldpausch:

Ohhh Rocky
Avatar 7:55pm Fanggg-Rila:

it's supposed to be terrrrible. but that might mean it's actually pretty good?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Rich in Washington:

I remember seeing it in the 80s but don't remember it at all. I have been thinking about watching it again. I think I could view it more objectively today.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:57pm Rich in Washington:

I just think O'Brien intentionally made it NOT like Rocky Horror, so people were disappointed.
Avatar 7:58pm Fanggg-Rila:

rich, you should totally watch it again. i went to a "midnight screening" here in nyc a few years. cuz they were offering screenings at both 9 pm and midnight due to halloween demand. and, it was so fun!
Avatar 7:58pm solo mon:

Daddy ARBucks I’ll take it. Annie is great, directed by John Huston!
Avatar 7:58pm solo mon:

Shock treatment is a really fun movie!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:59pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Thanks for playing The Gun Club!
Avatar 7:59pm Fanggg-Rila:

you are welcome, Hopey!! :)
Avatar 7:59pm Mr Fab:

I miss the Gun Club so hard.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:00pm Rich in Washington:

I've got Americathon in my queue, so maybe I'll make Shock Treatment part of its double bill.
Avatar 8:00pm solo mon:

They were originally planning a pretty straightforward sequel filmed on location in Texas but budget and other constraints made it not possible, so Richard came up with the idea that it all takes place in a tv studio.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm Rich in Washington:

Wonderful show, Fangg-Rila! Thanks! Loved the halloweeny vibe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:01pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

Oh wow, Americathon. I kind of forgot about that movie!
Avatar 8:01pm Mr Fab:

Fangs a lot!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm Hopey Sockmonkey:

YES THE CRAMPS.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm Rich in Washington:

De-Lux ending, Shangri-La!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm ARB:

I was allowed to go to midnight Rocky Horror screenings but not allowed to do almost anything else, so every time I went to a punk show as a teen I was technically at a Rocky Horror Showing
Avatar 8:02pm Fanggg-Rila:

jeffrey lee pierce was henry rollins' roommate, and i love this fact!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:02pm ARB:

Thanks Fangg-Rila!
Avatar 8:03pm solo mon:

Avatar 8:09pm Fanggg-Rila:
