Options October 17, 2020: Expiration Date Night
The 20th Century is long past its sell-by date, so we’re going to take it down off the shelf . . . and listen. Listen to its songs of love, lust, passion, romance. Songs to set the heart a-beating, the eyes a-fluttering, the pheromones a-wafting. An intimate evening . . . an evening where we get to know each other . . . a date . . . a date night . . . an expiration date night. (Did I mention jilted? There’s quite a few songs about being jilted, and relationships gone sour, too. After all, going sour is one of the best ways to tell if something has passed its expiration date.)

91.1 here in Orlando is a Latino station (would love to get a shortwave version of wfmu) (Used to use shortwave to get Alaskan stations to stay in touch w/ American culture when in Japan, it's how I found Dr. Demento as a kid.

Hi Ike - we're having issues at the WO transmitter, but we're dealing with em as they present themselves. We should be stable for now - please continue to keep us posted with any issues you're aware of!

Love Betty Hutton in Miracle of Morgan's Creek. Classic Sturges.
  12:43am rich:

thanks for the segue northguineahills because that reminds me that we here at wfmu are in the midst of our year end fundraiser, the october hellraiser. there’s all kinds of information on the homepage as to what you can get for your pledge but what we get from your pledge is the ability to purchase more gum and scotch tape so that captain scott and the skeleton crew can help keep the station from crumbling while we djs broadcast from home. without us and the volunteers unable to be at the station to lend a helping jaw that’s a lot of gum that scott, ken, michele, matt, olivia, joe, darren, and ruth need to chew. so if you haven’t donated during this fundraiser, and you are able to, please consider doing so.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:45am northguineahills:

please pledge for those of us who can't (my contract ended last week, still in a hotel).

Being bereft of live music really hits the psyche hard. Virtual live sorta scratches the itch, sorta... since I'm in FL, there's no foreseeable future of that happening since in the suburbs/rural areas, there are many covidiots.....
  1:30am rich:

clubs that livestream are getting much better at providing some semblance of being there with better equipment and camera work and i imagine some of them will continue to do so after the pandemic ends so that they can reach that part of the audience which is not local

"Feeling the Singular" is also a pretty good show name
