Funny to think the same songwriting team wrote Flash & the Pan's "Walking in the Rain" ... which couldn't be more different. www.youtube.com...

Windchase is also the name of the second Sebastian Hardie album.
Avatar 1:22pm

True. That one I've never heard.
  1:23pm
Dean:

Long ago I had the two SH albums, this Windchase, and a couple Millo solo albums. No more
Avatar 1:28pm
Tony Coulter:

Have never heard the Mario Millo solo albums either. (I guess he must be Italian-Australian ... as opposed to Italian-American.)

Is his solo stuff good?
Avatar 🥁 1:28pm
spodiodi:

thanks for the Flash & the Pan link, Tony. way different, indeed (and new to me.) was the songwriting team part of either or both bands? (looking it up. ignore me at will, please)
Avatar 🥁 1:30pm

Satan, ltns! did you send that space alien who appeared in my bedchamber last night? i admit, i was spooked. sorry about the eggs

I remember enjoying this one: https://www.discogs.com/Mario-Millo-Epic-III/master/631597
Avatar 1:31pm

@ spodi: Yes, Vanda & Young (the songwriting team) were in both the Easybeats and Flash & the Pan.
Avatar 🥁 1:32pm
spodiodi:

ahh, cool cool. i know nothing about anything. thanks, Tony :)
Avatar 1:32pm
Tony Coulter:

@ Dean: I'm guessing Ayers Rock used to be in your collection as well, way back when.
  1:33pm
Dean:

Related to the Youngs in AC/DC, too.

Not in the collection, but I was well aware of it at the time.
  1:34pm
Dean:

Still have some Skyhooks, though.
Avatar 1:38pm
Tony Coulter:

I won't be playing AC/DC today, but I will be playing Bon Scott's previous band (Fraternity).
  1:40pm
Dean:

So, Satan was me, spodiodi. I had a helluva dream early this morning during the short hour when I actually slept. It involved hauling a limousine off the sofa like a dog.
Avatar 1:41pm
Tony Coulter:

Talking of AC/DC, some mega fans live around the corner from me. They have a huge AC/DC banner on the front of their house, and their van is covered with AC/DC logos and stickers.
  1:42pm
Dean:

Maybe they're just electricians?
Avatar 1:43pm
Tony Coulter:

Ha! Or bisexuals.
  1:44pm
Dean:

Or both!
Avatar 🥁 1:44pm
spodiodi:

Dean, you dog (i had a feeling). I wonder if it was around the same time I saw the space alien. that would make perfect sense. I hope the limo had some champagne in it.
Avatar 🥁 1:46pm
spodiodi:

there have been deer creeping around our new place at night which sound *just* like space aliens sometimes.
  1:47pm
Dean:

This melody...cribbed from where?
Avatar 🥁 1:48pm
spodiodi:

i hadn't ever really thought about what sounds deer make until the past few days. the night before i was sure some person was banging on pipes underneath us, but in the daylight i surmised it was deer + a wheelbarrow
  1:48pm
Dean:

Holst, one of the planets
  1:49pm
Dean:

Jupiter?
Avatar 🥁 1:49pm
spodiodi:

Mars, bringer of Satan
Avatar 1:49pm
Tony Coulter:

You can't be an early '70s prog band without referencing The Planets.
  1:50pm
Dean:

Oh, right. Doesn't sound very martial.
Avatar 🥁 1:50pm
spodiodi:

The Planets are one of the only things i've seen/heard at the sf symphony
  1:52pm
Dean:

Come 1976 Tomita said, "Fuck it," and did the whole thing.

One of my first self-acquired LPs was LA Phil's Planets conducted by Zubin Mehta. Still have it. Incredibly good record in terms of performance and sonics.
Avatar 🥁 1:56pm

i don't know how you all keep track of so much. i have trouble keeping my socks in order
  1:57pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:07pm

Socks? Oh yeah. That's why my feet are cold.
Avatar 🥁 2:09pm

i always wear 2 pair of socks at a time. can't deal with cold feet.
Avatar 2:11pm

On the other hand, if you wear socks in bed, you'll have a harder time sleeping. (True for me, at least.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:13pm

Avatar 2:14pm

Hiya, Timpanda! Glad you liked the Snakes Alive!
Avatar 🥁 2:14pm

i agree, Tony. my s.o. wears 'em but i don't for the reason you mentioned. in fact, i've learned that keeping my feet out of the covers also helps me sleep better
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:16pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:27pm

my sister has moved to a different house and i'm still doing a little work at the old one. the deer very quickly knew that the 3 dogs were gone and people were scarce. also i/we stopped pruning/deadheading/working in the yard a few months ago so there're lots of buds and things for them to eat. i'm happy for them.

Avatar 2:37pm
Tony Coulter:

Heya, NGH!
Avatar 🥁 2:37pm

sounds a lot like our new place. i don't know how long it was vacant, but there is NO shortage of wildlife here bugs, birds, cats, squirrels, deer, space aliens, etc. so you are dogless now, like me? you must miss them

i want sourdough bread to go with the grapefruit marmalade and cream cheese that i somehow ended up with.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:40pm
coelacanth∅:

i miss them profoundly. i can't think about it.
Avatar 🥁 2:41pm
spodiodi:

snagged the last loaf of pumpernickel at the new TJs yesterday. i don't even know where there is a bakery around here. "Bakery -- Holocaust" in and of itself, is a disturbing idea. good luck with your bread procurement. hard time imagining what sourdough with grapefruit marmalade and cream cheese tastes like (weird, to me, combo!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm
coelacanth∅:

the deer have always come around her property but mostly in the night. now i think it's their home base!
-and the other critters are more visible too
Avatar 2:44pm

yeah sourdough's not the best bread for that! just, i love sourdough bread but rarely eat bread, so if i'm buying bread for maybe 3 slices of marmalade & cream cheese i'm buying bread i'll enjoy after that.

in the good old days trader joe's always had a sampling counter with free coffee and 2-3 foods to try. they once had grapefruit marmalade and some kind of cheese on some kind of biscuit. i bought all of that but finished the cheese and biscuity whatever like a year ago. i thought someone else would finish the marmalade but no one did. i bought the cream cheese to go with smoked salmon.
