  9:05am Rachel Bo Bachel:

Booods!! Morning Joe! Rose and Salem (4 and 2) are doing an impressive soft shoe routine on the hearth to this one
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05am YETI BOB:

sorry Bop, that was an oversight! Hi to you too. Are you in the Tannersville in the Poconos or the one in the Adirondacks?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:05am Marley P. Dogg:

Hey Yeti!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am Deborah:

Hi Buddha, everyone!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:07am Matt Fiveash:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:10am Krys O.:

Avatar 9:11am Joe McG:

Hey everybody - Starting out with some historical figures and we'll move on from there. You know how this works! Welcome to the show.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am Deborah:

We need a song for Trumpolini!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:11am YETI BOB:

Original version of the song had lyrics... The song was called "Amazin' Man" by John Bird, it came out in 1975. "This album was pulled in Britain in the late 70's because
Idi Amin Dada had a UK journalist slated for execution." - found in some random forum on the Internet
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:13am melinda:

Hi Joe and everyone
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:15am G:

@Yeti -- Yeah, I was in grade school in England in the early 70s, and Idi was big news there, starting when he decided to expel Pakistanis, or something like that. He then went on to "greater and greater" things... I wrote a term paper about him in some writing course...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am Mike W:

Thank you Joe for that Lord Invader song — just what my reality demanded at that precise moment to push back against madness

Also, I saw “Henry Morgan” and thought, Colonel Potter?! Awesome!
  9:16am paul:

The game show host?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am YETI BOB:

these lyrics to Idi Amin are really something: www.musixmatch.com... - He's not exactly praising the dictator! (The Idi Amin character keeps shooting his backup singers)
Avatar 9:16am Joe McG:

I've done this three times before, God help me, in case you're wondering why I didn't play a favorite: wfmu.org..., wfmu.org..., wfmu.org...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:16am David (in London):

Phillippe, Yeti Bob, Buddha, melinda. Greetings you good groovers.
Avatar 9:17am Joe McG:

@Matt: Ha! @paul: Yes.
  9:17am paul:

Mike W, that was Harry Morgan.
Avatar 9:17am Buddha of Suburbia:

I have $13 worth of coupons towards anything at CVS. What would you get with that?

Avatar 9:18am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hi David (in London)! How are you?
  9:18am Listener Bop Monroe:

Tannersville NY, the Catskills.
Play 'Joe Franklin' by Pocket Monster!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18am YETI BOB:

@Boods: Stock up on toothpaste & toothbrushes & dental floss
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18am G:

@Buddha -- anything you don't really need...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:18am David (in London):

Hey Boods. Yes, all fine here I think. Ploughing through a rather murky Monday, but spirits are OK. How's yourself?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am G:

"HT" -- a song written in honor of Watergate
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:19am Mike W:

God help you @JoeMcG
  9:20am Rachel Bo Bachel:

Boods feeling pretty good, thanks for asking! 20 weeks. Feeling some kicks! Miss you grrrl! Hey Krys O!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am Ken From Hyde Park:

@Buddha - Maybe an 8x11 enlargement photo for you or a loved one?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:20am YETI BOB:

@Bop: Oh, of course - Catskills not Adirondacks - I got my mountains mixed up
Avatar 9:21am Buddha of Suburbia:

I have a good amount of toothbrushes, dental floss, etc. I'm okay David in London. Everything here feels like ground hog day. Just going to be cleaning the house today. Not much going on. Trying to be grateful I have my health and I'm doing ok.Ken from Hyde Park, Nah! That's wonderful Rachel Bo Bachel was the gift I sent you Josh approved?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:23am YETI BOB:

@Buddha: Are the coupons transferable? You could give them to a homeless person.
Avatar 9:25am Roberto:

"Ground Hog Day" sounds gruesome.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Deborah:

Why do I hear echoes of Paul Mauriott's (sp) "Love Is Blue'? Haven't thought about that song in ages.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:26am Andrew_in_WI:

I've another suggestion. "Helena Bonham Carter" by Liam Finn.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:27am YETI BOB:

@JoeMcG: This is inspiring me to write a song called "Joe McGasko"
Avatar 9:27am Buddha of Suburbia:

Actually, Yeti Bob, they're not transferable. I don't live in an area where there are many homeless people, but I could buy some necessities and send it to a local organization that helps homeless people! Thanks for the great idea, Yeti Bob!
Avatar 9:28am Strandlund:

Buddah...get some Toilet Paper, Hand Sanitizer, Paper Towels, Clorex Wipes, Gloves and Masks...This Covid-19 isn't going away anytime soon, regardless of what our "so-called" President says.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:29am David (in London):

Count Yeti Bob - We could do a split single, as I've just written a 10-minute epic called 'Station Manager Ken'.
Avatar 9:29am Buddha of Suburbia:

Strandlund, so very true. Our president is toxic for this country.
Avatar 9:29am Strandlund:

We need a vaccine to help us from him!
Avatar 9:29am Creature Boy:

Hey what the HEY?
  9:30am Rachel Bo Bachel:

Boods Josh is of the we-have-too-much-stuff school of thought, so don’t worry about him. I think it’s great and I can’t wait to use it at our new house on holidays! Is it from the Jewish Museum? I feel like I’ve seen it at the gift store there maybe. Also, $13- so good!! I kind of love CVS. My dad insists that it stands for “Cards, Videos and Sundries”. I vote for sundries!
Avatar 9:31am Buddha of Suburbia:

David (in London) did you really? I've listened to David in London's music, people! It's very good!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:32am listener Rey:

Good morning to you all on this rainy Monday morning
  9:32am Rachel Bo Bachel:

David in London I need to hear that!! Ps it’s murky here too. I’m trying to get in touch w/ cozy fall vibes
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:33am David (in London):

Boods, no I was only joshing. But thinking about, with a few carefully snaffled samples from his Wednesday show, it might be fun...
Avatar 9:33am Creature Boy:

Remember when Jimmy Carter mentioned Amy's musical faves in an interview way back when? "Stones, Clash" in his funny accent
Avatar 9:34am Buddha of Suburbia:

You will have to send it to me when completed. Can't wait!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35am YETI BOB:

Ken really is a heroic figure and deserves a ballad or two. The way he has kept this station afloat through so many changes, the divorce from Upsala College, the moves, FCC battles, this crazy lockdown - Ken is THE MAN.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:35am WoodsOfNH (now Maine):

The Pocket Fishrmen...I wonder if anybody named a band Flowbee?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am YETI BOB:

@Woods: That's a name for a rapper.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:36am Brian in UK:

Hey Joe. One those wet Monday mornings where you should stayed in bed or be watching old black & white films.
  9:36am seedfriend:

So stoked to catch this!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am Marley P. Dogg:

What is it about an accordion that is so calming?
  9:37am ?:

there was a song called 'mr. popeil' they used to play on WPIX.... sounds like the b52s.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am David (in London):

Mm, I've going to have to give this some serious consideration then...

Woods - One of the main points of my education this year has been learning what a flowbee is!

Brian - Yip to you sir.
Avatar 9:37am Creature Boy:

Cool theme
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:37am Marley P. Dogg:

Yeti - I second that!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:38am WoodsOfNH (now Maine):

@David (in London) ...and they still make them!
  9:38am Toothgrinder Tom:

I love an accordeon! (Hi, David in Londres.)
  9:38am Listener Bop Monroe:

found it! was weird al!
mr. popeil
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:39am Deborah:

@Rachel Bo Bachel: Around here CVS stands for Constsantly Vacant Shelves. Guess it depends on the CVS and the consumers.
  9:40am Toothgrinder Tom:

Lá revolution ne sera pas diffusee a la television.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am David (in London):

I think floWbeE might be an aggressive glitchy, Techno outfit, like Aphex in one of his darker moods.

T.Tom - Hello mate! How are you?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am Deborah:

@WoodsOfNH (now Maine): Oh the Flowbee! A friend was so hung up on his Flowbee, way back! He recently died due to the effects of COVID. Sad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:41am BNowB_:

You mentioned harry true man just as I saw a folder on computer of movie "the Truman show" Oh names... coinQedinks
  9:41am Rachel Bo Bachel:

I like that Harry Truman said “the buck stops here” as opposed to “I take responsibility for nothing whatsoever” ~facepalm~
  9:42am paul:

Harry was on MASH. C'mon man.
Avatar 9:42am Roberto:

I think "infamous" would be more appropriate when describing Mr. Amin.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am Asheville Jon:

Hey Joe,
how about Sally Kirkland by the Original Sins?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:42am YETI BOB:

I think Henry Morgan is the Captain Morgan on that rum bottle
  9:43am Toothgrinder Tom:

@David still alive and kickin’. You?

Avatar 9:44am Buddha of Suburbia:

Bizarre indeed! Aleister Crowley was a British occultist.
  9:44am Rachel Bo Bachel:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am karlward:

I feel "Virginia Woolf" by Robyn Hitchcock is in my future, and I am cool with that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:44am David (in London):

There's a great Parsons biog called 'Sex and Rockets', which is a hoot.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:45am PaulRobeson1920:

Fantastic music today! Haha
Avatar 9:45am Buddha of Suburbia:

Hi BNOWB! Didn't see you there! Ken played some Klezmer rock music the other day, Rache! I'll have to find it. It was pretty good.

Avatar 9:46am Buddha of Suburbia:

I'm feeling this tune! Beat Poetry for Survivalists...hmmm...

  9:48am ami ad:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am YETI BOB:

Luke Haines kind of channeling Robyn Hitchcock on this song (Jack Parsons)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:49am The Oscar:

Not sure if anyone else read the Twin Peaks books Mark Frost put out a few years back, but Jack Parsons plays a surprisingly major role.

@Buddha@9:17, years ago, that pharmacy chain used to have a surprisingly robust selection of cashews, almonds, etc. if you like that sort of thing. But I like Yeti Bob's idea too!
  9:51am Rachel Bo Bachel:

Reno D :D that would be cool! You mean “The Death of Ferdinand de Saussure”? I pretty much can’t get enough MF
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:51am David (in London):

Joe, can I lobby for 'Ma Baker' by Boney M? I realise I might be in a minority here...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:52am TristaC.LadyCaveBrat:

That last track was TuxedoMoon-ish.
  9:53am Doug in DC:

Warren Harding by Al Stewart
Avatar 9:53am Roberto:

"Ma Baker" won't work because the historical figure's name was actually Barker.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:53am YETI BOB:

There's that Butthole Surfers song where they say "Gary Shandling" over and over, but I don't think that's the title of the song.

Avatar 9:57am Joe McG:

@Ashville: Good news, I might play it. We've got a radio edit single of it. Does he curse in the album version?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am David (in London):

Roberto, I see what you did there. I'm wounded still, but I nonetheless give your suggestion my seal of approval.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:58am Ike:

The rules of the game dictate that it has to be [first name] [last name] or [first] [middle] [last], right? Barring someone like Cher or Sting, of course.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 9:59am YETI BOB:

@Roberto: No, I think it has to be full name - Grigori Rasputin

Yeah Boods- we still gotta unload our current place. Supposedly the market in Brooklyn has held up, but we are only getting lowballs. We may re-list after we move out and they can stage it- it’s a huge pain to show while you live in the place you’re trying to sell, during a pandemic, w/ 2 kids (who think it’s their job to make messes). First world problems, I know!!

No doubt, Laura. Many fewer shows in recent years, and so my ears are open to the next best thing. And of course on The Stooges' 'Metallic K.O.' live album you can hear the gentle clink of bowling balls and beer bottles as they hit the guitar strings...

Spirit raising show, Joe! Absolutely adore Santa Sprees....quite a recent discovery for me...wrote a longish review for the PROTEAN NORM blog about the album. Nice to hear Wreckless Eric on Joe Meek, too. Keep doin' what you're doin'
