Hi folks! Since March when the world shut down, WFMU has worked tirelessly to ensure that we keep broadcasting 24/7. DJs have set up home studios while our "skeleton crew" keeps it all together in the main studio.

WFMU continues to be a source of comfort for many during these very trying times -- Let us know you appreciate it by pledging! Please use the pledge "widget" at the top of this playlist page if you've been enjoying this show.

All donations -- any amount -- are so greatly appreciated!

i had misfiled ska under reggae until i learned better in college that i knew ska but i didn't - it was the mid 90s and i had a buddy (whom i've pointed at this progrm) who was into the dancehall crashers, the skatalites, bim-skala-bim are a few coming to mind - i'm definitely enjoying the swim this morning
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm

Hope you dig some of these favorites here! I'm sure they're some of yours too
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:19pm
Mike Sin:

All right, Matt from New Orleans -- thanks for the link!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:23pm
Mike Sin:

ike_p -- I think most Americans came to reggae in the '70s through very popular artists such as Bob Marley when the music was moving in the "roots" direction. But, there was was quite a history leading up to that. On today's show, we have a bit more of a rocksteady slant than straight-up ska.
